July 20, 2010 at 09:24 #307446Barrington,
My advice would be to give the last race at Kempton the body swerve and make sure you’re home in time to see
Nuts In May
tonight (BBC4 10pm)
Other Films/TV: Mr Jolly Lives Next Door (nap), Trailer Park Boys (nb), Married With Children, Animal House and, on a racing theme, Let it Ride
As for stand-ups, it’s been a while, though obviously not as much of a while as your selections, but I used to like Al Murray (before he was crap), Emo Phillips, Arj Barker, Steven Wright, Bill Hicks……..
July 20, 2010 at 10:41 #307461I thought "The IT Crowd" was one of the funniest series ever broadcasted until this new one. Weepingly disappointing. Let’s hope Series X of "Peep Show" doesn’t do a similar Hibaayeb on its loyal fans.
July 21, 2010 at 05:42 #307678I thought the same about the new series of the IT Crowd until the last one about the Italian interpreter and the orphan girlfriend
Genius.July 21, 2010 at 09:32 #307692Glenn, good to see another Trailer Park Boys fan on here. Used to crack up just with the Episode titles…."If I Can’t Smoke and Swear I’m F@@cked", and "Jim Lahey is a F@@cking Drunk and He Always Will Be Spring" to mind. Brilliant show, with Ricky and Jim Lahey particularly good. Gonna have to get the DVD’s I think.
July 21, 2010 at 12:41 #307735… Mr Jolly Lives Next Door (nap)…
that one brings to mind this:
July 22, 2010 at 09:35 #307855Almsot forgot. The documentary from a few years back
Bookies Never Lose
starring one Barrington Dennis.
The part where he gets caught napping in the back row by a steamer and does seven large in cold blood always has me rolling in the aisles. "Are ya ‘appy now?"
Does anyone have a copy (Bazza?) to put up on youtube? Mine must be gathering dust in my mum’s attic.
July 22, 2010 at 10:33 #307868Glenn ,stayed up till 11.30pm watching , NUTS IN MAY , still not sure, too much reminds me of a couple I know,
wouldn’t know how to put "bookies never lose" on you tube.
will ask the kids
July 22, 2010 at 15:32 #307931VTC – Trailer Park Boys is excellent. Great characters all – I’ve known a few in real life just like one or two of them.
