Thanks Mtoto, sorry you missed the winner yesterday. tbh I did not think I was going to tip anything. Looked at the Doonside Cup the night before but couldn’t see an edge, also wasn’t sure what the ground was going to be. Things looked a lot clearer when having a second look.

Hope probable high winds don’t play havoc with today’s Newbury card. Jockeyship might be more important than normal, which is a bit of a worry with Mijack’s Clifford Lee an apprentice unable to claim. The horse should have quite a bit in hand now there’s give in the ground – if getting some cover. Hold up horses may have an advantage in most races there today. However, they’ll also be slowly run races and if allowing leaders (Hells Babe?) too much rope, a front runner could still prevail. My main bets currently available at bigger odds than I backed/tipped them, at least the saver Mankib (the hold up horse) has shortened.

A Racing pal of mine (known as Softie on here) used to do some of my bets in trifectas, expect the tips yesterday were too late for him too.

Another double figures winner at Ayr, and saver Mankib won the other betting race at Newbury. I did say jockeyship would play a part at Newbury and that Lee should get cover – he didn’t. But that’s the chance you take with an apprentice on a day like today.

5 wins from 5 races since last Saturday. Hope it continues on the main day of the week.
