Oh FFS, it’s instantanious!
6/1 no longer available so scrap the 17 points.Anyone who sees me tip a VC price in future had better get on quick, you’ve probably got seconds to take the price.

Value Is EverythingDecember 10, 2012 at 11:01 #422265Ginge have you tried using the fixed on the betfair site? instead of having to say tip a horse for a tenner cause that is all thats in the pot.
Dawn Commander is 6/1 fixed odds as I type and 7.8 on the exchange but for a bag of peanuts

Dawn Commander is 6/1 fixed odds as I type and 7.8 on the exchange but for a bag of peanuts
tbh tb I haven’t, no. When I’ve looked at fixed odds it’s quite a bit shorter. Am a greedy xxx and want the best price possible. But you’re right, it may well be an alternative, especially when sometimes waiting for peanuts to become brazils.
As far as Dawn Commander is concerned, it was only ever going to be a saver bet anyway. Wanted to cover him because although fences form is poor did run well in a jumpers bumper last time out, absolutely thrown in on hurdles form and trainer firing on all cylinders. However, you’d think if they knew his jumping was better they’d back him, drift from fav to fourth fav looks ominous.
Value Is EverythingDecember 10, 2012 at 12:07 #422274Agreed Dawn Commander has so much potential on his hurdles form, I don’t concern myself too much with what connections are doing a lot of the time, who knows till he gets on the course, Johns Spirit left disappointing chase efforts behind to win at Sandown last week and Christopher Wren was much better yesterday, that bumper jumper was encouraging.
Lets hope fortune is still shining on you!
December 10, 2012 at 12:20 #422276Dawn Commander needs to jump better to prevail and the drift suggests he’s still a bit iffy at home. Not that one of my other bets in the race (Isla) is much better in that department.
Kicking myself over the Fakenham race. Saw 11/4 Cross Of Honour last night, but it had already shortened, thought I’d get 3/1 this morning but down to 9/4. Camden had gone in the opposite direction, so have now backed him @ 3/1 with a saver on the Longsden one @ 2/1. Whether I’ll still be "kicking" at 2:10, we’ll see.

Well, I was "kicking". Cross Of Honour the winner, but in truth lucky to get anything back. Fine Parchment still going reasonably in front when falling… He can find little in front so was no good thing at the time. However, it left Frontier Spirit on his own. Without company Twister’s horse pricked his ears and idled badly. Cross Of Honour making up a deal of ground in the straight. Once in front the second fought back but too late. Camden disappointing, travelled well early but soon outpaced once they kicked on. Staying on late (beaten) when falling last.
Value Is EverythingDecember 10, 2012 at 15:40 #422285Also thinking it was unfortunate not to able to include Hazy Tom in the thread coming over the last fence. Noel Fehily did the right thing not to go for everything, as Tom can hit one. However, didn’t get away from the fence as well as the staying on Swift Arrow and couldn’t repel the McCain trained horse. You may think I was lucky to have Hazy Tom’s defeat not count in my results, but guess who was one of my saver bets? (Sorry, aftertiming). So in the end wouldn’t have made any difference to profit/loss figures.
Once again wishing I could’ve included the Blenheim Brook main bet, leading over the last. But my other main bet, Lucy Alexander on Isla Pearl Fisher (17/2) helped the thread out. Getting up to beat AP McCoy in the finish. When RUK gave the betting saw it had been 12/1 on-course and backed in to 8/1. Wish I’d seen it! Needed to get some housework done between races .
Can’t complain. Another winning day! Profit of +200 points.

Kaituna
very week, backed at 11/4 and out to 9/2. Thought the form to be with was the one/two with
Venetian Lad
(saver) here last time out. Kaituna below form today, and beaten some way out. "Someone, somewhere, knew something", as Big Mac says . However, Venetian Lad seemed to run his race in third, closely matched so Kaituna probably wouldn’t have won anyway.
It’s possible my other saverHeavenstown
(10/1) could’ve got me out of trouble, first start in a handicap chase and seemingly still going well when coming down 3 out. More probable been placed because the winner won well. Nick Williams / change of scenery rekindling both
Father Probus
‘s ability and enthusiasm to land a gamble; front running possibly helping.
Invicta Lake
made it yet another winning day . 7/1 winner first time in a handicap. Unlike favourite
Fitandproperjob
sure to stay the trip. Goes well at Fontwell for his local trainer. Invicta Lake didn’t travel or jump especially well in the early stages and pushed along some way out. Only around the home turn did it look as if he’d be placed. Jumping the last upsides and staying on really well to win going away. There’s every possibility of following up after reassessed especially over a bit further. Pricking ears and idling, he’s better than winning distances indicate.
Days Profit +124.25 points
