The Charlie Hall was less of a stamina test (Double Ross also came to the fore in this race) and Menorah was better than at Haydock imo. We could go around in circles all day, so best to agree to disagree as you say. The only horse I’ve backed is Holywell @ 50’s and topped up at 14’s after the Christmas races. If he makes it to the race I doubt I’ll back anything else. I’ve outlines my Conti concerns but there’s not much jumps out to take him on with. Good luck
Hope you’re right THM!

Value Is EverythingFebruary 14, 2015 at 01:01 #750825Two horses running in this I’ve backed for Cheltenham. One is Balder Success for the Champion Chase. Big doubt about him getting home in a truly run race, for me. That’s my hope anyway. Less emphasis on stamina (less rain) the better his chance.
Ptit Zig is a wonderful novice, impressive in winning a couple of really good novices. However, has to improve quite a bit to beat these seasoned campaigners. Worth taking on at the price. I can see him finishing third here and still going on to win the JLT. Although if failing for speed here could yet find his way in to the RSA.
Ballycasey comes from a stable in blinding form, 6 of last 8 have won. However, he’s been well backed in the last 24 hours and no longer looks value. Probably has a bit to find on a couple here, but is suited by likely conditions.
Rajdhani Express might surprise a few. Reportedly finished lame last time and too free time before only other completed start this season. The 4 1/2 lengths 3rd in Ryanair some 5 starts back his last good run. Even that doesn’t look good enough, but there are question marks about most of the favourites and he’s 20/1.
Theatre Guide finished last in Many Clouds’s Cheltenham race. Does not look up to this level.
Have backed Ma Filleule for the Ryanair. Form of the 3 mile Cheltenham (Holywell) handicap working out well and won Topham afterwards. Travels very well through her races which suggests this trip is not a problem. She has an excellent chance here if the ground is not too soft. Ma Filleule’s finishing effort was a little disappointing at Aintree last time, so will put a lay back in running bet at ridiculously short odds, just in case.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 14, 2015 at 01:07 #750826Might be a couple more Saturday bets, depending on ground conditions. Timing some of the early races.
