Part of making a profit is knowing wht you’re good at Sam, just enjoy the racing.
Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2014 at 10:30 #471142Hi Ginger, do you mind me asking why Carlingford Lough is such a big price in your book? I have him down as a leading player myself.
I could easily be wrong THM but…
Carlingford Lough is very experienced, may be too experienced. Form probably as good as the four I have just in front of him in my book; but seems less likely to improve than those. Feel bookies priced him up on the usual unexposed sorts of JP (can’t really blame them for being cagey) but Carlingford Lough doesn’t really fit in to that scenario for me. May be they think Shutthefrontdoor going for the Terry Biddlecombe is a good sign for this one. Major reason though is trainer form. Only one winner since mid-september although that was Carlingford Lough.Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2014 at 12:41 #4711742:40 Cheltenham

March 12, 2014 at 15:43 #471222I do not understand the betting on the Champion Chase at all.
My 100% book:
Sire De Grugy 34% 15/8
Captain Conan 16.5% 5/1
Avrika Ligionaire 8% 12/1Somersby 7.75% 12/1
Sizing Europe 6.75% 14/1
Wishful Thinking 6.75% 14/1
Hinterland 5% 20/1
Bailey Green 4.75% 20/1
Kid Kassidy 4.5% 22/1
Module 3.25% 28/1
Special Tiara 2.75% 33/1Three horses massively over-priced in my opinion. Sire De Grugy @ 3/1 (a full 9% better!), Somersby @ 20/1 and Wishful Thinking 29/1. Unusual for outsiders to be that different to my prices! Be amazed if any of those odds last.
Well the prices lasted longer than expected. You don’t get value like that very often.
Touched 7/2!
12% better than my price! One that finally went right.
