    George Moore, Australian jockey, who rode Royal Palace to win 1967 Derby and 119 group 1 winners during his career, has died, aged 84.

    My first visit to a racecourse was Newmarket on 1,000 Guineas day, 1967, George Moore rode the winner, Fleet. I backed it, being my first on-course bet. Didn’t see any of the race because of the crowds and not knowing where to watch the race from, but great memories nevertheless.
