My point Andy, is that the Geoffrey Freer is still getting – your words – “plenty of decent renewals with some decent horses winning it”… Which is why in explanation I said that Before Saturday three of the last four winners (four of the last five years renewals) went on to Group 1 victory.
Of course you won’t get every renewal being won by a “decent” racehorse, but a “decent” horse did not win every 1980’s and 1990’s renewal either.
