    Osborne’s just said –

    "turning to gambling duties, FOBT’s….are highly lucrative and therefore it’s right we raise the duty on them to 25%. We will also extend the horse racing betting levy to bookmakers who are based offshore, and will look at wider levy reform at introducing a racing right to support the sport."

    He then spoke about Bingo but wasn’t really listening to that part.

    Yes Osbourne is trying to get the masses out of the bookies and into the bingo halls by increasing FOBT duty and halving bingo duty.

    Sadly for lovers of housey housey, there’s been some confusion here. Osborne has announced a 10% tax rate for Bingo, but he means the chap who was his fag at Eton.

    I look forward to seeing the structure for enforcing the offshore levy/tax for bookmakers not based in the UK, but taking online bets from UK citizens

    He didn’t go to Eton

    He went to St Pauls, where the fees are only 30K a year…….that’s why Cameron and his chums call George an Oik

    announcement made to London Stock Exchange:

    =============

    William Hill PLC (LSE: WMH) (William Hill or the Group) notes the announcement by the UK Government that it intends to increase the rate on Machine Games Duty on B2 content from 20% to 25%.

    Based on 2013 B2 gaming machine gross win, had this rate applied in 2013 it would have cost the business an additional £16m.

    This measure is expected to take effect from 1 March 2015.
