Future Plans for Longchamp

A few months ago I was told, by a friend who moved to France, that Longchamp was closing for a big refurb and that the 2008 Arc may not be held there.

Since then I have seen no plans and also see that they have their normal fixtures for the next 3 weeks.

It certainly needs a big refurb-one that would probably see all the Spring fixtures moved to St Cloud, Chantilly etc

But what the hell are they going to do if these possible works actually take 1 year plus. There’s no way that any other track has the capacity to host the event and they take a big risk if they do what Churchill Downs did and host the event on a building site.

Sacre Bleu, use Cheltenham,…the uphill finish will certainly sort the little flat horses out.
