Hello,
Anyone any idea of the best source for videos of French races? I have found a link on France-galop that appears to charge 100 euros for 700 races but someone out there may know of a better site.
Any help much appreciated.

January 5, 2009 at 06:32 #201670Thanks for giving a link that froze my screen. Much appreciated.
January 5, 2009 at 08:28 #201673Has not been the same since they removed kingpresa’s account from YouTube. He had all the French Group and Listed racing + harness and mounted trot racing as well.
January 5, 2009 at 12:18 #201678I never quite understood why they objected to u-tube about people posting videos of past races. I would have thought it was a good way to promote racing and good for them in the long run.

It’s the usual case of the authorities knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing.

January 7, 2009 at 01:05 #202029Ah yes – cross country races in the French Provinces!!!
Many thanks for the link Venusian!!!!Actually, if you choose Brehal 2008, and the last (9th) race on the 4th August, you’ll see a very odd spectacle about 1:55 in to the video – the horses run out of picture, but then reappear about 5 seconds later going in totally the opposite direction! I reckon there must be some sort of hairpin bend round there!!

We have had no racing in Deauville for the past 10 days as underfoot conditions where attrocious, the lazy sods couldn`t be bothered to work the track!!
Following a management meeting yesterday they decided to make the effort to race today , we have just had the coldest night (-13 degrees) of the winter and the tractors are whizzing around the track for the past 6 hours, result, we are fit for racing!!
Just shows that a bit of effort can make the differance!!
If the British Bookmakers decide to show the afternoon card and you have nothing better to do you might want to take a look at the following horses:-
13.05 SKY CRUSADER Ex Recke , won the Mijas cup, been running in claimers lately but looked really good last time(Kicking myself that i didn`t claim him ),gets in off a mark of 38 which looks very lenient, i know the past trainer had an high opinion of this horse but at the same time he must have had problems training him as he`s very lightly raced and they literally gave him away, 1500 metres is probably short of his best but the fast pace will see him have the race run to suit, interesting proposition!, i would cover the bet with FAREION, this horse as a favourable h`cap mark,he goes on sand and has a strong jockey in the saddle , i can`t see beyond these two!
15.35 NARANJA should win the 7th, again surprising to see the filly turn up in a claimer, the German trained runner is very well treated at the weights, we are obviously hoping for the best with GLOBAL DREAM ,however,he`s got back problems so despite training well the h`cap mark is more important, TORONTO should run his race and rates the main danger although the Itailian SALICE BIANCO should be treated with respect, tricast is interesting with NARANJA 1st and the other three put in a combination!
lucky last………..I can drop a good word for LAMBORGINO .
