Stop it, you two, I’m getting all “emosh” reading this!
No, I’m not crying, you are!
Joking aside, TRF is a wonderful, heartwarming, place sometimes.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 21, 2023 at 11:11 #1652498I for one won’t miss him, although he will probably walk into a nice TV job and be even more annoying. In his autobiography this guy admitted to inserting a piece of lead to the end of his whip as a young man in Italy.
June 21, 2023 at 11:24 #1652506My brother bought me a Dettori book about 6 years ago
Still haven’t touched itBlackbeard to conquer the World
June 21, 2023 at 11:45 #1652520I can take him in small dozes. He’s typical of top sportsman. Driven where winning is the be all. Has had his issues like most but seems to take things harder now when it goes wrong. Ryan Moore to me is the closest thing to Lester out there. Riding superbly just now. Frankie may be trying too hard as it’s his last year. Won’t miss the fixation with him one bit. Should always be about the horse unless the rider plays a blinder. All this jocking off riders does seem silly to me. Nobody, bar Ryan, worth it. Since murtagh and kinane retired a dearth of top,top jocks. IMHO of course.
June 21, 2023 at 14:22 #1652563I think he needs a winner otherwise ITV will be plying on going on about him not having a a winner, which could get annoying very quickly.
He is what he is and there is simply nobody with that larger than life persona that will cross the sporting pages into general public consciousness they he has – but he is hot and cold with no inbetween, when he is on it he is very engaging but you half know about it when things aren’t all tickety boo in DettoriWorld.
To me Ryan is more in the quiet, very few words Piggott mould but obviously less talented although to be fair some of his interviews yesterday after winning he actually was far more talkative (relatively for him) than his usual one word terse answers.
Re Dettori’s 9 days suspension, just watched Weaver and Murtagh argue quite heatedly over Dettori’s ride – even though the replay clearly showed Cadillac was just a head short of being level on the inside of Saga.
Murtagh was adamant that James McDonald had every right to try to get in the gap simply because the gap was there and that Dettori shouldn’t have cut him off…although he did admitt that Dettori could have had the horses on his outside pushing him over as well.
Weaver was having none of it and maintained that Cadillac was not actually upsides Saga at all (apparently to him a head short of being level means that you clearly aren’t upsides) and that McDonald should not have even tried to have gone for the gap on Dettori’s inner in the first place
He also thinks that if Dettori appeals he is certain to get the ban reduced
June 21, 2023 at 14:30 #1652565Moore does seem a little more relaxed when he is interviewed now, which is good to see.
June 21, 2023 at 14:53 #1652569Ruby has just had his view on it however Johnny Murtagh openly said he would have done the same thing, shut him down and face the ban!

June 21, 2023 at 15:06 #1652574I guess the moral is, if you don’t want somebody trying to sneak up your inside don’t leave a gap there in the first place and then you won’t be left in the position of having to slam the door closed on them….missed Ruby’s comments, did they show a head on view to see if those on the outside of Dettori were forcing him to the inside?
June 21, 2023 at 15:12 #1652576They got some almost overhead footage. There was a clear gap there and Ruby’s opinion he should have closed it earlier.

June 21, 2023 at 15:15 #1652577I just had another watch, Dettori made the move there was no influence from another horse.

June 21, 2023 at 15:38 #1652583“Tremendous asterisk use by Nathan.”
Yes, the clincher. I think you can close the book now Chezza.
Unlucky.June 21, 2023 at 17:44 #1652641“I think Gregory will win the Vase and take any pressure off.”
At least I have got something right today!
June 21, 2023 at 17:51 #1652646Yes Cork my only winner today..Paddy Power is having a field day with my bets.
Nice to see a flying dismount at last. When he’s pressed just before the post he gets that bit more out of his horse. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 22, 2023 at 14:29 #1652805Ryan does seem to be at ease with himself and his riding shows that. Doubt he’s getting as frustrated as frankie with finishing second a few times. Interesting to hear aidin say that Ryan has great input on tactics and placement of horses. Maybe the lads have realised listening to the jockey will result in more success. Ryan told aidan and the lads he was riding a rodin for feel rather than any set plan. Does help when you’ve got a good horse but I’m sure confidence ,like anxiety, translates to the horse. Also Ryan and aidan get on so well whereas frankie I bet is a difficult guy to deal with at times.
Nothing against him but prefer Ryan or Tom marquand tbh.June 22, 2023 at 14:58 #1652827The fawning after he finally got into the winners enclosure was sickening.
Just dreading the day news breaks,if or more likely when,ITV racing have offered him a job!
good luck to allJune 22, 2023 at 15:11 #1652836Most annoying thing is the fawning over the boys in blue. Does my head in given what they stand for.
June 22, 2023 at 15:19 #1652838What Ascot needed, the King having a winner and Dettori having a winner. How on earth is that a comparison what is wrong with ITV.
