I have just watched the Lance Armstrong interview with Oprah.
I then came upstairs and read this post.
Two earth shattering confessions.
I am not sure which is the most damning. Which is the most revelatory. I am in a state of shock over both.
Corm/ Matron – can TAPK be stripped of his Poster of the Year 2011? Is he ALLOWED to keep his pseudonym? Can his legions of fans and follwers of his DLAP EVER believe anything he ever says again.
I remember the day I learnt Santa wasn’t real. Never did I think anything could top the disappointment and hurt I felt that day. Until this. Lance and Gord.
Two fallen hero’s
Hilarious post Joni! Every line had me in stitches! Brilliant stuff!
‘Himself’ I said it umpteen times that I wouldn’t touchFrankel
at 2/1 for The Derby as a 3yo because his ‘I’m off like a scolded Cat’ style of running just wouldn’t allow him to see the trip out.As a 4yo I saw clearly that he had learnt to settle and Tom had taken control of him rather than vice-versa,I certainly believed after seeing his Juddmonte run that on good ground he’d get the 11/2m,however after seeing his bloodless victory at Ascot on horrible ground I also felt that on that sort of going he’d struggle to get it! Like I say from a Betting point of view ‘Frankel’ was never a price to back him so I can live with the fact I missed out on that one big opportunity.Thats Racing and why we love the challenge. It doesn’t change the fact that like you say my loyalty was always with
Dancing Brave
as he really did tick all the boxes including being a betting proposition on several occassions much to my benefit.
January 18, 2013 at 20:54 #426778Talking of betting propositions looking at the horses prices during their relative careers shows a marked difference.
Dancing Brave

Ascot Group 1 4/11 opened 1/2 1st.4yo
Newbury Group 1 2/7 opened 1/3 1st.
Ascot Group 1 1/10 opened 1/7 1st.
Goodwood Group 1 1/20 opened 1/16 1st.
York Group 1 1/10 opened 1/7 1st.
Ascot Group 1 2/11 opened 1/5 1st.Those figures clearly show the limited opportunities the Punter had to Exploit ‘Frankels’ brilliance compared to those of ‘Dancing Brave’ particularly from an Ante-Post perspective.I applaud those who had the foresight to snaffle all the double figures for the 2000gns they really were in no danger of losing after 2 furlongs,I on the other hand had a little more anxiety to contend with as ‘Green Dessert’ loomed up ominously well at the 2 pole but certainly had the better Ante-Post potential which I made the most of!
January 18, 2013 at 21:59 #426788Ah but Gord if you hadn’t buried your head in the sand; hadn’t been so pig-headed;
had
followed yours truly – The Real King of Foresight, as well as the Guineas ante-post, you would have backed:
Frankel to remain unbeaten in 2011 – 10-1 winner
Frankel to win the QA by more than 7 lengths – 7-2 winner
Frankel to win the QA by more than 10 lengths – 10-1 winnerYou had your chances Gordio. You can’t say I didn’t advise you. Frankel WAS the punters pal. The
real
punters. The ones that can spot young talent. The ones who have Foresight.
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

Most would crumble under the barrage of abuse you are giving me Joni but you are quite right with what you say in the above post,I can only congratulate you and your foresight yet again and admire the fact you spotted those bets! Well done! Incidentally I’m just listening to the appropriately named ‘Smack my Bitch Up’ by The Prodigy!! You can be so cruel!
January 22, 2013 at 05:34 #427091Following the adjustment of the rating system I have decided to rerate my horse.I wrote to the handicapper to inform him of this but he told me not to be ridiculous.Once your horse is handicapped that is that he said.I pointed out that the horses below mine needed to be rerated to take care of my evaluation of my horse who in the light of recent performances of older horses needs to be reviewed since his performance was nothing like we thought it was.I pointed out that my horse’s performance was really not what it appeared but in fact was very inferior to what it seemed. My horse had been twenty lbs inferior to Dancing Brave in the original handicap. Now Dancing Brave was rated below my horse by the Official Rater of older horses.I failed to get a second response from the turf club. What should I do?
June 14, 2015 at 22:53 #1105144Following on from last nights super programme.
How wise was Colin Little in his response to this thread on 15 August 2010.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn’t it ? -
