Castletowns Boy ran a race full of promise last year and beat the current favourite!!
I do not know anything about his trainer but feel sure he must be aiming him at a repeat, IF he can get the lad there in one piece as fit as last year 25s might look big
February 20, 2015 at 23:12 #751627Pretty sure I’ve never put up a horse for this race before, and don’t remember ever backing one Ante-Post, though normally enjoy it when it comes around, and usually have a go on the day.
I’m a wee bit ignorant of the entry requirements, but a couple I would be interested in, run at Fairyhouse tomorrow, including the already mentioned Two Rockers, who I thought would have achieved more.
The other is Last Time D’Albain, who I really fancied for The National last year, but he had no luck at all, getting his rider knocked off by Shakalabloodyboomboom
He was comfortably beaten by Two Rockers last time, but more than happy to give him another chance were he to head here.Might even have more on him than my previous biggest bet in the race………….. Oscar Delta in 2013

[i:quku8ms9]Really encouraging win by Last Time D’Albain, and if he goes, he’ll definitely get a few quid of mine on him. When he gets beat there, I’ll try again if he goes over the Aintree Fences[/color:quku8ms9] [/i:quku8ms9]
February 24, 2015 at 16:44 #752148Not my cup of tea this race and I don’t usually get involved.
My initial thought was that Paint The Clouds had as good a chance as anything but he’s down to a shorter price now, so I won’t bet on this one.
Looks like Teaforthree is out of it now.
Salsify is a good old stick but I can’t see it this year. Not keen on current Event and would prefer On The Fringe but not at the odds.
I’ve had a look through Muirhead’s form and can’t figure out why he’s as low as 7/1, makes no appeal whatever to me at the odds.
Harbour Court is one I like for no reason other than it reminds me of the REM song Harborcoat. Maybe that’s the way to pick winners

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 24, 2015 at 17:43 #752152Not sure what there isn’t to like about Current Event Steve, he’s unbeaten in 8 PTPs and Hunter Chases on the spin since falling on hus debut in that sphere.
His trainer still works at Nchols yard and trains him in her lunch break so you would like to think she’d have access to the facilities, especially as the horse is part owned by Nichols.
May indeed not be good enough be certainly a big player.

Must admit I don’t follow the point-to-point scene but I’m just not inspired by Current Event. I could well be wrong and the Hunter Chases aren’t my favourites to be honest.
Double Silk was a horse that caught my imagination back in the day and Kingscliff excited me when he won it so young but there’s been a few plodders in there

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
