Love this race and homework and a decent jockey is the key.
If you have never seen him jump, take a look at his last race where he demolished a good field. OSCAR BARTON could be an excellent winner of this race
January 18, 2015 at 23:21 #502065Presumably then you don’t expect Mr Donworth to be riding Oscar Barton.
I like Paint the Clouds myself. Probably shouldn’t be running in hunter chases but the rules are what they are.
Speaking of horses that shouldn’t be running in hunter chases I notice that Teaforthree is entered in one at Warwick this week.
January 19, 2015 at 21:32 #502187They have a young Irish lad riding him but the name has gone! Agreed, Paint the Clouds is a massive danger.
January 19, 2015 at 21:54 #502191If Salsify is as good as he was he’ll be hard to beat. Meant to run at Leopardstown on Hennessy day
January 19, 2015 at 21:58 #502193Is
Tammys Hill
injured or going elsewhere this year?
Two Rockers
is an interesting one. He looked classy as a young horse and even got a few shouts for the World Hurdle from a few judges on here. He has since won a couple of Irish PTPs, beating some useful old sticks.
I’ll bow to GC and the PTP experts though, really don’t know if anything in the betting will actually make it to the race in March.
January 19, 2015 at 22:18 #502195Tammys Hill is not qualified this year.
January 19, 2015 at 22:38 #502197Thanks THM.
January 21, 2015 at 11:04 #502335Painttheclouds has had an injury stricken career, does anyone happen to know his wellbeing presently? I presume he should be out in the next month or so if well.

I guess the same principles apply to him as Sprinter Sacre – he wont be the same after a long absence. Also he was gifted the 2013 running so i’d expect something to come through the ranks this year.
After backing both Salsify and Mossey Joe last year (although I did fortunately land on the winner on the day) it’s a race I think i’m going to avoid like the plague until much nearer the event.
February 5, 2015 at 19:58 #504212There’s a fascinating 2m 4f hunter last on Bangor’s card tomorrow featuring Teaforthree, Pachu Du Polder and Calgary Bay.
I actually rather fancy Calgary Bay, who is the outsider of the ‘big three’ with the only firm who has priced it overnight. This trip is going to be rather tight for old T43 and PDP can hardly raise a gallop on soft ground.
Calgary Bay
always had a bit of class and pace about him and should at least make a step towards qualifying for Cheltenham/Aintree if any vestige of ability remains imo.
February 6, 2015 at 16:01 #504279Oscar Barton out
February 8, 2015 at 21:50 #504722Surprised Salsify has been pushed out to 14/1 in places after today’s run. He was very keen today and it was no surprise to see him blow u having led into the straight. Provided he comes out of the race well he is surely a major player here.
February 8, 2015 at 22:32 #504735Jamieobviously needed to blow the cobwebs away so kicked on, back at Chelts he will sit back, hunt round and come late, just a matter of what the old legs have. I agree with you, IF he comes out of today’s run OK he has to be a player

I was down by the rail when they went by first time and it looked more a case of not being able hold him than intentionally kicking on. The horse looked full of beans and today’s race will surely have done him the power of good. Fingers crossed we’ll get a positive update during the week
February 14, 2015 at 19:10 #750954Ante post favourite Teaforthree was only fourth today and as such is not qualified to run at Cheltenham. I’m not sure if they plan on getting another run into him to try qualify but today’s effort wouldn’t give you much hope.
All the 12/1 about Salsify has now disappeared, while predictably On The Fringe and Paint The Clouds have also been cut. Salsify is better than either of those two imo and it’s a case of how much ability he retains. He showed plenty on his reappearance, and if he comes on for that he’s probably the horse to beat now.
February 14, 2015 at 19:59 #750957I absolutely love Salsify. Just not overly convinced he will be able to do it.
February 16, 2015 at 23:30 #751199Changed my mind.
Last three years it’s been a heavy lump on two of the likely horses.
This year I am going in hard on On The Fringe and Salsify.
He travels so well and I actually thought he was older. Can see one of them winning and they have no Tammys hill or Oscar Barton. THey are the two best.
