    Afternoon chaps,

I’ve been very busy last few weeks and haven’t been paying much attention to football betting, but I’ve decided to have a little go at the Weekender again today!! Below are my 6 selections:

    1. Tottenham 11/8 DREW
    2. Doncaster 3/1 LOST
    3. Portsmouth 7/4 DREW
    4. Huddersfield 4/5 DREW
    5. Southampton 7/10 LOST
    6. Carlisle 3/1 WON

I keep thinking Tottenham and Huddersfield are overpriced still – so I’ll be having a cheeky double on those aswell!!

    Good luck one and all

Terrible effort for Saturdays football…might just stick to the horseys I think!

I have not had a Saturday Football bet for years but am asking if anyone has or can suggest a simple system for a bit of Saturday fun.

Never mind the corners, pens. off sides etc. etc. just plain and simple Home, Away, Draw.

Years ago when SMART was a magazine I remember one submitted to bet every match on the fixed odds coupon to draw 2-2, it only required one result to make a profit.

Needless to say the odds for such a result soon changed.

I hope we will have some fun to look foreward to.

    That Old Wind Bag

    MrE

has been trying to wind me up (again) and it sure has done the trick

I was looking for a footie system to play fixed odd on a Saturday and did like

    Brownowl’s

suggestion of the Bankers Treble from the Daily Mail and will give it a shot starting tomorrow if it is still to be found.

Right come on you silly ol begger

    MrE

lets see what you have got in the locker.

:D :D I had a sinking feeling that you would take me up on this Bully….. I suspected that you were having a bit of a torrid time on the old horses….. betting on other sports have changed over the years and it’s become a lot easier to win using other avenues….. yep, I’m willing to make a fool of myself again, lets have a laff and see if we can go someway towards driving Matron crackers….. but a new thread for a fresh start might be the order of the day…. I’ll kick start one today…..

It is time to revive the idea behind

    brownowl

and his dad’s suggestion to follow Saturday D Mail football selections.

    The Banker Treble: –

    Brighton 2-1, Southend 1-0, Livingston 2-2

    Small loss on the day

I am not playing this as a Patent suggested by

    brownowl

but as a Trixie because my small stakes really are not worthwhile as singles.

    Adventure treble: –

    Oxford, Morton, Albion

There are also 2 Yankee suggestions: –

    1) Brighton

    A winning start

    2) Leicester WON,Livingston Draw, Morton Draw, Alloa WON

I’ll stick my football system on here, save starting up a new thread
The rules are simple but in case billion is reading I’ll do the idiots guide..

Step 1 – Find a game that you think a goal will be scored as 0-0 is death, we want at least one goal in chosen game(s)
Step 2 – Lay the draw, you can do this pre match or wait longer for a shorter price. The lower the price the less liability you will be paying out if 0-0 or more winnings when greening up
Step 3 – A goal is scored, the draw will be a bigger price so green up

***Depending on match a goal can make things worse ie if a hot fav concedes 1st the draw price can get lower. That is why selection of game and odds laid can be important

Screenshots can’t be posted up on the forum so you’ll have to take my word for bets placed etc
I’ll post up game and odds layed before the game anyway.
I may see if thehorsebox takes screenshots and post up results on there too

Hello Nathan old friend…. I think I have set you up with a date with Matron…. you would be well advised to take a tube of Anusol with you when your called into her office…. but, as a good friend, I feel that you would be better prepared if you took a 5 gallon tub of Castrol Axle Grease with you…. that’s OK…. you can thank me later….

Evening Wurzel my old mate, Matron has asked me to look after you, but, in all honesty, I find that I just cannot do that. He offered me a considerable sum, but I just can’t face it…. I cant even turn my back on it, too scary by half. Anyway old friend, what could I do with arthritic hands, I can’t even hold a pen, is that clear (anagram or hidden word), I am hoping that your not too disappointed and that we can still be “friends”….

With regards to your trading idea, that’s far too much effort for me… I’ve done my fair share of bonus whoring in it’s heyday and the playthroughs were really easy, me and the missus pooled our winnings and we won £6K in 4 months, they were “heady” days and it was new for everybody, the bookies must have caught a cold because within months the playthroughs got really tough…. good days back then. These days trading, Back to Lay and Lays are just too much for me to get involved in…. I have software that picks Lays with consummate ease and 20pts a month is relatively easy, but who the hell is going to take the sort of chances in Laying… and I put trading in the same boat… too little return for the effort put in….
I know a few guys that make nice profits at this, but it’s getting harder as the Betfair markets get smarter… you might still have an “edge” if you also look at Betdaq an Smarkets… there are others, but those look the better for value bets…. they are more “tilted” than Betfair…..
Not knocking in any sense Wurz, good luck with it…. I just find it very hard…..

    I Appreciate that, MrE
I do like a challenge though
the risk is high as one loss can wipe out a lot of hard work
If I have too many hits I’ll knock it on the head
    but for now I’m optimistic
billion has promised me a kiss if I hit a ton profit
must be worth a try for that alone

    Burnley v Arsenal
I think Burnley should be a bit shorter in the market and are capable of winning this or rather Arsenal are a bit too short
Arsenal can’t defend well but can attack and have gone with an attacking line up.. Hoping Arsenal would score first as that would push the draw odds up
if they do concede 1st to Burnley then the home side are capable of hitting them on the break

    lay draw at 3.8
    liability 19.60Burnley v Arsenal
