The Racing Post’s preview speculates “Another Gentleman de Mee?” in the race preview and I think they’re referring to the odds on fav Flame Bearer…but I think his stablemate, the young free going bold jumping Ha d’Or has a more similar profile. His first chase start, jumping beautifully to comfortably beat The Goffer despite the latter’s race fitness and experience, was quite impressive and the form of that is better than Flame Bearer’s chase win. I’m ignoring Ha d’Or’s last run as too bad to be true- he travelled and jumped well then hit the wall and was virtually pulled up.
Flame Bearer beat H’Or twice over hurdles last year but he was 7 and Ha d’Or was 5. I fancy Ha d’Or to turn the tables here and go on to Aintree with a decent chance.
March 4, 2023 at 12:04 #1637734I’m going to join you Greenasgrass in taking on the hot Fav, but I’ve went with Barnaculla and it looks like the 22-1 is worth taking just now.
Good luck GaG

Ha d’Or runs around a bit in front and didn’t finish as strongly as I’d hoped.March 4, 2023 at 16:46 #1637814We really should have seen that one coming haha
