Ayr has an 8K value race which falls short of my normal betting range. However, the fist two in the betting which are both the best rated do look to have the race between them. Is backing both (Dutch betting) today worth the short odds or should this race be left alone. 9/4 & 11/4. These do look attractive albeit taking odds on overall.

Another day, another chance. There are a number of good quality races at Goodwood Tuesday and choosing the right one is not easy. We have chosen the 3.00 Goodwood. SACRED carries my majority of the staking with a saver on POGO. (Pogo has done me favours in the past and I couldn’t leave this one out). EVER GREEN has respectable form but that is some 319 days ago.

Two horses who’ve caught the eye recently…
Mick McHugh
No luck at all at Redcar, and looks to have a couple of races in himOperating
Looks a very promising type, and certainly of interest for the autumn. Same name as a very promising staying chaser I followed a few years back. He was blighted with setbacks, so hopefully this guy will fare better.July 28, 2022 at 11:37 #1609140*thinks it’s the wrong notebook as this one dates to 2019*
Besides the slight slip as regards the date I believe you were wrong Alexander to discount the chances of Misty Grey on the 24th as the a/w suits this horse much better.
Allow me to put forward my case for the above statement.
Overall this horse has 6 wins from 26 runs,1 on turf with the other 5 on artificial surfaces.
Now concentrating purely on the a/w it’s 5/12,if you then remove stakes races (4) the record becomes 5/8 and if you then consider races over a mile (trip never successful at) two more can be considered as doubtful as relevant. One’s left with a rather impressive 5 wins from 6 handicaps over 6f & 7f.
Away from Kempton he’s in fact 5/5 in handicaps!
All the best for the future Alex
