winning gives credibilty to a thread not currency

My agent/bookmaker who handles 95% of all my bets has an account outside the country and I bet in his currency of the country he banks in. If I converted it into Thai baht it would look even worse and no doubt it looks bad enough already to some people……I was going to knock all the zero’s off my Chelteham AP bets and work them into this thread as they run or not…… but in the end I couldn’t be arsed changing everything.
To me this is like big brother is watching you which clouds my judgement but I’m in now and see it through.

Anyway with all respect I am not here to discuss me or anything other than to keep a record.
See you and hope hope to see you out of the pen soon. A few of the lads miss your crazy banter.

Every so often I have a very large bet and this week at Goodwwod I am so conviced Rip Van Winkle will win the Sussex that he is going to be a must for me. How much depends on the next couple of days where I am attempting to increase the winnings. Several bets with the hope of having a winning day. A total loss and I’m right back to where I started so you can’t say I’m not game..only stupid

Funny enough Richard Hannon is more concerened about the filly and seems to think RVW’s form isn’t as good.

Barry Hills ho runs Ghost in the first at Windsor tonight may think he knows the time of day on a line through his Our Dream Queen who finished a short head behind Planet Red.Apparantly Planet Red was expected to win but was found to be off colour when he got home. He ‘s been rested and brought back has been working well and must be worth a bet to turn this fav over.

Ruby takes over on JJ Lambe’s Hunting Tower from AP. He was gambled on like money had gone out of fashion last time out and no doubt they have been having a few quid on again. I was going to join in but there must be a huge doubt if he will be anywhere near as affective on this ground as he is on a fast surface. The interest in him has pushed Jesssica’s out to 8/1 which looks great ew value.

AP does ride for JJ Lambe today at Uttoxeter but on a very ordinary mare.
Her only form is in Irish Points and at 6 years old she is not expected to be setting the world on fire…or so I am told. Mind you she has never come across anything like AP before so I could be making a big mistake here. However I could see no reason despite the 7lbs pull why Ragdollianna should reverse placing with Rhinestone Ruby who beat her very easily last time out. Rhinestone Ruby has been improving with every run so I have gone for her.

The Gordon Stakes
Conduit won this for SMS before going on to win the St Leger.
Harbinger is bidding to follow in his footsteps but he’s had his problems.
Having backed him in the St Leger I suppose he should have been an automatic choice for me and I should have left it at that.
The problem is the St Leger is some way away and SMS won’t have this horse rushed. He’s reportedly been working very well but SM will have left a fair bit to work on.
I doubt if he 100% tomorrow and might not need to be but it’s a risk I’m not fully prepared to take. If he wins doing handsatnds I won’t be complaing as I have backed him and he’ll more than likley be fav for the St Leger if he does. However SMS says he has a lot of natural speed and this trip may be his maximum.
I am at a loss to understand why Richard Fahey’s is 2nd fav for this. He’s one of the best trainers in the country and his horses are jumping out their skin but this horse is a handicapper. I haven’t seen him run to be honest so perhaps he’s something special but if he is it’s news to me.
Urban Poet cost fortunes, could be anything, pissed up at Hamilton Stop! This isn’t Hamilton it’s Goodwood and while he could win this it would take a brave man to back him on the back of a win round that hellish joint against a bunch of selling platers.
If this was any other year and any other Derby Masterofthehorse would be a short priced fav to win this. Take your choice whan he ran in the Irish Derby it was a much faster gallop and either he didn’t stay or he absolutely hated the ground. They say it was good to yeilding but that’s Irish for sticky as ****
I would totally ignore than form and assess him on his other runs. His second to Golden Sword at Chester doesn’t read too well but he did beat him in the Derby and I think he’s probably better than him despite the Irish Derby sayng differently. Amazingly he’s as big as 5/1 for thisLike Harbinger he is bound to be held up and come with late rattle. I doubt if they would be running him here unless they thought he can get the trip on this better ground.
If he wins great, if Harbinger wins great but at 5/1 I’m hoping I’ve done the sensible thing and backed Masterofthehorse EW and Harbinger in a double with my banker of the meeting Rip Van Winkle.

At the start of the season I sat down to study a 2 year old race which featured Pat Fddery’s Brockelby winner.
The minute I saw Monsiuer Cavalier I was in no doubt which I was going ro back. As it turned out I found another horse who impressed me running in the rame race. He had only won a poor race at Lingfiled on the all weather
but he’s a lovely horse and looks the part. As luck had it I backed the winner and the forecast and have followed MC ever since.Due to the fact Canford Cliffs is in a different class to MC he has been kept to 5f. He is one helluval horse for making you break out in a sweat and has always given the impresssion he needs 6 furlongs. He is apparanly heading that way but again he’s running over 5f again.
He should on bare form win but he’s way too short to be gambling on. One of these days he wont get going in time over 5f and who knows it might well be today.
When he beat Soccer at Newmarket he stuffed him by 3 1/2 lengths.with Iver Bridge Lad a dual winner since 4 lengths futher back.
Soccer took him on again a Sandown this time he went down by 5 lengths.
He ran well that day perhaps even better than he did on theri first meeting but MC had obviously improved.Tom Dascombe then gave him a bit of a break and 6 weeks later he returned to Lingfield lumbered with a massive 10st on his back. The air was blue that day when Soccer looked to have the race in safe keeping and Richard Kingscote came up his inside and headed him 50 yds from home. When his youg pilot(Claiming 5) realised he was there Soccer fought back and was beat on the nod.
Anything lost today will only be out on loan. He’s up against it today but Soccer is definitely a horse for the future and that race will have brought him on again.so I’m bcking him EW hoping he runs well enough to get placed or even cause an upset.

Rip Van Winkle looks like running so I’ll balance up the books after the race.
Today Ruby Walsh looks set to get off to a flyer at Galway for Willie Mullins. Tawaagg looks different class to these and 10/11 looks very generous indeed..

Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes
Xtension may well give Canford Cliffs a bit of a form boost here but it’s a bit trappy with everyhing looking to have a chance.
A horse that that caught my eye in the Albany was Richard Fahey’s She’s a Character. He was so far behind with a furlong to go she looked totally out of things. She didn’t manage to get into the frame but somehow betind belief she gained about 6 lengths on leaders and finished 4th.
If there’s a better trainer at the moment than Richard Fahey who just keeps sending out winners I’m damned if I know who it is. He must think she’s pretty useful to send her here to take on the colts. She’s huge at 16/1 so I’m having an EW bet in the hope she might spring a surprise or at least get a place.

Thanks guys.
I had a look at the Nassau Stakes Betting Odds and can’t understand why Rainbow View is second fav.
She has always been highly regarded by Gosden but she just keeps losing.
She found very little last time out and Heaven Sent looked to be a stronger finisher than she did.
I dont fancy the Oak form. Sariska improved bundles since then and the actual Oak form might not be that good.
Heaven Sent has apparantly been burning up the gallops since her last race and she might just be good enough to win what is not a great race
3,000 ew Heaven Sent 7/1

The Queens filly Fine Sight needs a bit of cut and with the ground good to soft in places hopefully she’ll be a bit happier on the surface than the others and take this.
4,000 win 5/4
Lost 2nd
Desire to Excel is as game as a pebble and beat much better horses than this lot last tme out. Hopefully she will continue to improve and take this in her stride. To be honest the rest look like they couldn’t raise a gallop between them which makes this a major bet. The ground is a slight worry but that’s the only thing I can see beating him.
