At the Sandown meeting last week Jonathan Neesom said tracks get fined for late running races and Sandown would go off late because of the distance between the stables and the course.

What are the fines and how are they implemented surely a racecourse cannot be fined if a horse plays up behind the stalls or an ambulance is not at the track so when exactly is it a racecourses fault

Dont know what the fines are, but if they were substantial Goodwood, Newbury and Sandown would have declared bankruptcy years ago.

I hope they’re not fined by the minute. Epsom are a disgrace today

Late races I can handle- it’s the early ones I have a problem with!

Why was the Oaks off so late, about 15 minutes? I listened on the radio and John hunt sounded pretty pee’d off and embarrassed by it.

The expanation was Aiden O’Brien being delayed by post Coronation Cup interviews, which delayed the saddling of his Oaks runners.

Connections are obliged to give interviews afterv the Group 1 races and having two Group 1’s back to back mate it tight. In previous years, from memory, the winner of the Coronation Cup has not had such a major involvement in the subsequent Oaks.

Moving on I think it may be prudent to re-schedule by bringing the Coronation Cup forward by one race and having another race between the big two.
