Mitchouka at 50s seems a generous price NRNB
February 27, 2022 at 01:25 #1584975Really really impressed by Celebre D’Allen at Warwick last time. Just the way he got out of trouble, and the manner of the win, winning with a fair bit up his cuff. I hesitated with the 8’s, and left with 6’s. Not really my kind of Antepost price, but I was happy to go with him, with BOG attached.
Palmers Hill is a horse I really like, and although I hoped to see him in The Kim Muir, I’ll happily go with him here soon. Disappointing last time, but his win at Wetherby suggested he was well ahead of the handicapper, and I think that’s still the case. Have half an eye on The Topham for him, but he’s a big old price here, and must have a chance.
Another horse who I had The Topham in mind for is Annamix. Last run was brutal, but he’s had an interesting campaign, and he’s surely going to pop up before the seasons out.
As well as Palmers Hill, JP can also call on Off You Go, and Andy Dufresne.
I’m not planning on betting Off You Go, as I’ve bet him for The National, but his last runs can be ignored, and he’s worth considering. Andy Dufresne is a bit of a forgotten horse, but been hoping to see him in a big handicap, and he’s going to be of interest in the coming weeks.
Wishing and Hoping, & Farinet, are others from the home team who’ve got to be worth noting, while Born By The Sea, and Ben Dundee are another pair from Ireland who look ideal for this. Last but not least, and tajes a fair leap of faith, but I think that Feelgood Island is better than we’ve seen, and he has to run well at Naas tomorrow to come into the picture here.
I’ll bet Palmers this week probably, but one bet for now.
Celebre D’Allen 6’s NRNB
March 3, 2022 at 17:42 #1585587Adding Born by the Sea for this, off a mark of 140, Jay galligan will likely ride taking 7 off. he has a nice win at Galway to his name last year. Had a nice quiet intro run latest given no chance by the race conditions. 40s ew
he’s also in the Kim muir same price so will bet him for both NRNB
March 17, 2022 at 05:00 #1587932Keep it simple. Glancing Queen 5/1
March 17, 2022 at 11:36 #1587994Happy enough with my early bet on Celebre D’Allen, and added Grand Paradis the other day, and he’d probably be my late hope.
Definitely adding another one, and preferring Born By The Sea just over Wishing and Hoping at this stage.
Born By The Sea 80’s EW 6pls
Celebre D’Allen 6’s NRNB
Grand Paradis 14’s NRNBMarch 17, 2022 at 12:24 #1588013Unoriginal, but Glancing Queen and Imperial Alkazar are my two.
March 17, 2022 at 12:37 #1588026Imperial alcazar is my idea of the winner , Oscar elite run on Tues helps his form ,at bigger Slate house e.w shouldn’t still be in my book but ……I still like him , he,s well handicapped I’m hoping this has been a long time plan
March 17, 2022 at 13:10 #1588045Backed Celebre D’Allen and Imperial Alcazar, given that British horses seem to have a chance in the handicaps this year.
Also had a little bit each way at a big price on Hardline in first time headgear.
March 17, 2022 at 15:49 #1588201Adrimel and Spiritofthegames for me.
Best of luck to allMarch 17, 2022 at 16:07 #1588213Hardline who has decent back form and Stolen Silver are my two ews. Good luck all.
March 17, 2022 at 16:10 #1588215The Glancing Queen ew 5 places
March 17, 2022 at 16:16 #1588219Didn’t back him but I think that’s my favourite result of the week.
March 17, 2022 at 16:17 #1588220What price you give me for Evan Williams crying?
March 17, 2022 at 16:17 #1588221Err not sure what Skelton was doing there …old Slate gave me a thrill going round , the winner is as genuine as they come
March 17, 2022 at 16:19 #1588222Coole man.
Almost brought down on the turn too.
Wonderful trier.
Value Is EverythingMarch 17, 2022 at 16:37 #1588235I reckon Brennan did well just to get Imperial Alcazar around. The horse has an engine but can barely jump. Brennan had to make his mind up for him at almost every fence.
March 17, 2022 at 16:39 #1588236Exaggerated waiting tactics by Skelton; perhaps could have been closer
