The ‘lad’ or grown man as I’d prefer to call him, didn’t have his livelihood taken from him. He was substantially compensated for the period in which his licence was revoked.

I’ve no sympathy for him whatsoever. He’s a talented rider but needs to learn that if you sleep with dogs, chances are you’ll get fleas. Anyone that thinks he’s whiter than white and that the transcripts from the court case (where he has no case to answer under CRIMINAL charges) can be or should be swept under the carpet needs to get their heads from out of the sand.

Regarding the ride on Harry Up, he did absolutely nothing wrong bar arguably not going quite fast enough, but the horse has rarely if ever reproduced his handicap form in claimers, as he hadn’t when turned over by the same horse in similar company on similar terms at Musselburgh a few months ago.

    Well said Reet,

I find it amazing that this lad, who had his livelihood took away from him for 18 months, has to put up with more crap just because he got beat on an odds on shot on his return.

Give the lad a break, he has been found guilty of nothing and is free to ride again. It was us, the punters, that backed his horse into a long odds on shot – yet it seems to be the same people who back him who cry foul when he gets beat – amazing.

Well said. Couldn’t have put it better myself.

He has to rebuild his carer from scratch and while he received compensation whilst he was unable to ride does that compensate for having three years of sleepless nights wondering are you going to end up doing two years in prison?

Name me a jockey or trainer that is whiter than white. Even Sir Michael was done for stopping one

    Yes.

Saeed bin Suroor hasn’t fallen foul too many times I don’t think.

    .

    Agree with that totally.

The only thing I will say in his defence is that at least in his ATR interview he said that he had grown up and learnt his lessons over the last couple of years. That at least implied that he accepts that he has made mistakes in the past. Given he has his licence back, I hope he lives up to his promise.

Thank you David Johnson I agree with you whole heartedly.

It was just the point I was trying to make.

Maybe some of those that you accuse of ‘having their heads in the sand’ are better able to see reality for what it is, rather than the way you and the BHA would have us view it?
The truth is that Fergal Lynch was found to have no case to answer on the ‘CRIMINAL’ charge of conspiracy to defraud.
There is little doubt that he passed on information, so did Keiren Fallon, so has just about everyone else in racing at one time or another, a point the Judge in this case acknowledged, but conveniently ignored by the lynch (npi) mob.
Apart from a couple of questionable rides – which happen every day, in almost every race – there is no more evidence of race fixing than could be levelled against dozens of others in his occupation, either.
He may not be whiter than white, but the reality is that very few are in an industry awash with inside information, but shouting for the squashing of a few fleas will do nothing for the long-term health of the dog.
