I always think that horses with classic aspirations should be named as such.Pinturischio, Nijinsky, Crepello are such names that spring to mind however Benny The Dip broke the mould somehow.
For strange or frivolous names Noble Lochs stills brings a smile to the face.October 15, 2007 at 21:22 #119723I can’t decide if that is a delibrate Thommo joke Strawbear or a slip of the keyboard!
October 15, 2007 at 21:24 #119725It’s boring but I like Coolmore’s literary-inspired names.
And their opposites: quaint names more suited to household pets or ponies like Bonny Grey, Nice Horse and Smudge.
October 15, 2007 at 21:32 #119728Around the time of Mary Hinge, didn’t Julie Cecil also have Jo Blob ?

Awww, bless. Kittenkat! The slowest thing ever and put on this Earth to make Killeshin look like Arazi. I eagerly await the racecourse appearances of her children four or five years from now – straight into 3m1f beginners’ chases on heavy at Exeter ahead of repeat tilts at the Devon Marathon, methinks….

October 15, 2007 at 21:48 #119738I like MICKMACMAGOOLE, apparently it’s Gaelic for "not trained by Seamus O’Donnell".
Geojimali, Italian for "missed the break" and Benandoner (named after a kebab-flavoured ice cream) are other favourites
LOL!!

I copied it into the RP search facility. There is a Wear The Fox Hat, now 14, although she doesn’t appear to have raced.

Yep, and added another onepaced place finish to his tally at Carlisle last Friday.
Ye verily a horse for whom the phrase "needs five miles in a bog" might have been coined.

Not forgetting Saltys Son, who can’t have been that far off being lapped in his debut bumper this summer but came home the happiest boy alive.
