It’s a bit rich now for Selina Scott and others to keep bleating on about women being dropped from high-profile TV roles when they got older, greyer and more wrinkled.
Is BBC Look North "high profile" ?

Value Is EverythingMay 15, 2012 at 11:06 #404207Born in Norway 1970 and beginning her life as jockey in 85 Yvonne Durant was known for her beaty and strength. Called "the Snow Queen" when riding in South America. Yvonne was Skandinavian champion several times, and statisticly the most winning jockey when there was a tight finish. Later she moved to Sweden to train horses, and last year, she and her husband and children moved to South Africa to start farming.

My love will sadly always be unrequited BH.Nothing says "I’m not interested" quite like a restraining order huh?
When this thread started, I did have reservations along the same lines as your gripe. But I haven’t seen anything that any women mentioned on these pages could find offensive.
Indeed it has all been flattering for the women concerned although I’m sure that if many posting in this thread loosened their reigns by even a finger then I’m sure there would be a liberal ejaculation of adolescent "What-I-Would-Do-To-That" pleasantries.
Besides, your comment isn’t taking into account the feelings of those women who aren’t being mentioned in this thread despite their inner beauty.
Besides, there is nothing wrong with "masturbatory fantasies", as long as those fantasies do not change the way a man thinks about real women. And if you ask your good lady, she may even tell you some of her "masterbatory fantasies" about men.

I checked with Miss Bachelor… Miss Hall… there’s actually a horse trained in Somerset who has a Francized version her name… but yeah, my fiancee. She’s told me that before me, she would only masturbate over the female form and namely, her own. Yes she’s a bit of a narcissist though frankly I wouldn’t blame her. Nevertheless the fact remains that I am the only man who’s really got her going.
Still, you may or may not have a point as I understand that my fiancee is an exception to the rule.
Chantal Sutherland is the 130th jockey in the country in terms of earnings in 2012.
Rosemary Homeister is 96th.
Forest Boyce is 87th.
Emma-Jayne Wilson is 85th.
Rosie Napravik is7th
. She’s 4th in the Belmont Park standings so far this meet, and was 1st at last two Fair Grounds meets. She got another big win this weekend in the G2 Peter Pan on Mark Valeski.
+1

You have to make some judgement on who is physically attractive BH, otherwise how did you ask Ms BH out?
OK, it might be "inner" beauty as well, but there must be a physical beauty judgement surely?Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Many women wouldn’t look at a ginger.
They can’t help who they find physically attractive. If they’re not attracted to me, that’s their loss (or that’s what I tell myself). Some men (though unfortunately not I) find "BBW’s" big beautiful women more attractive than the conventionally regarded beauty. Though I myself find most models in fashion pics too skinny and have a distaste of the "beauty" industry for many reasons, including testing products on animals. Perfume still smells like rabbit’s eyes to me. But that’s getting on to a different subject…There is (imo)
nothing
wrong with saying a particular woman/man is physically "attractive". However there is
everything
wrong with saying a particular woman/man is particularly physically "unattractive".

Ginge making love to a beautiful woman is one of lifes finest pleasures but there’s an art to it,you have to treat their body like a form book, gently flicking through the pages with your fingers, not thumbing your way for a lift. You know the winners in there somewhere but finding it can take a little longer than you expect at times,Patience is a virtue!
You have to commit yourself to your goal even when a Ladies indecisiveness can leave you second guessing,
you dont spread your bets in this arena, when you go in you go in hard mate!
By the time you reach the 2f pole your filly needs to have come under pressure, preferably at the 5f pole the 4f pole and the 3f pole that way she’ll let you come from behind inside the last and the taste of victory will live with you forever,a nicely chilled Bolly to celebrate always goes down a treat! Nothing comes close to good Sex Ginge……..Well maybe an Ante-Post coup!

I don’t need educating TAPK. You’re talking about sex a little too much, what do they say about people who talk about sex?
A nod’s as good as a wink to a blind bat.
Say no more.Just to educate you, my reference to "perfume" is not a metaphor for women Gord. It’s a test once used to find out how safe perfumes were before being allowed on to the market. Putting drops in to the eyes of rabbits. Hence why I don’t like the smell of "perfume". The smell of a "woman" I agree, is a far more pleasureable experience.

The young, raven-haired and botoxed Harry Gration age 61It’s amazing how many older, often very wrinkled men who are dropped by national TV on the grounds of being too old and wrinkled find a new semi-retirement home on regional TV.
The classic example is Mike Morris, who made a virtue out of hound-dog looks, bags under his eyes, wrinkles and a lugubrious manner reminiscent of Clement Freud and his dog, Henry.
After the demise of TV-am in 1992, Morris ended up on Yorkshire TV’s Calendar. He had made a brief return to breakfast television when presenting GMTV’s Sunday show "Sunday Best" in 1994.
Morris, 64, was on Calendar from 1996 to 2002 but, after apparently being dropped, made a rambling on-air farewell speech and it was abruptly faded out.
Other old stagers who have found a niche on regional TV include Nick Owen, also 64, who was best known for his national TV presenting partnership with Anne Diamond. He appeared with her on TV-am until 1986 and later with her on the BBC on Good Morning with Anne and Nick between 1992 and 1996. He now appears on a BBC regional news programme, BBC Midlands Today.
Gordon Burns, 69, best known for the Krypton Factor, later appeared in the north-west on BBC regional programme North West Tonight until last year and is now apparently on the radio.
Not to mention Fred Dinenage, 69, of How?, Gambit and World of Sport fame, who is still going strong as a presenter of southern-based ITV regional programme Meridian Tonight.
He has presented regional news in the south – Day by Day, Coast to Coast and Meridian Tonight – for 25 years. What a legend he is.
Plenty of ammunition here for those who think older men have a longer shelf life on TV than women, irrespective of craggy and wrinkly looks. Again, sadly, that’s the reality and it’s a fact of life in broadcasting, whether we like it or not.May 15, 2012 at 19:40 #404264Besides, your comment isn’t taking into account the feelings of those women who aren’t being mentioned in this thread despite their inner beauty.

OK, it might be "inner" beauty as well, but there must be a physical beauty judgement surely? When I look through my history, it is more a physical tolerance… even a biological one.
In all honesty, what initially attracted me to Ms BH was the fact that she was the only person in the room who laughed at my tasteless joke. When I spoke to her to explain where I stand on paedophilia, I discovered that she was a very intelligent, very sardonic yet intrinsic individual who thought ill of anybody with a facebook account. It was then that I was hooked. Admittedly, she looks terrific but her exterior beauty is, I can assure you, purely incidental.

I do agree 85-90% of the way with pretty much everything you say. Being pedantic though, I will say that it can be wrong to say that someone is "attractive" for it breeds inflated egos and an atmosphere that allows underqualified persons into unwarranted positions. Conversely, telling someone they are wearing too much make up or that they need to lose some weight could save many a life.

Totally agree about Facebook. Maybe you’re right about inflated egos, but those attractive people with good positions are normally there because they deserve it. It’s easy for those less fortunate in the looks department to think others have got a promotion purely on their appearance. Yes, it goes on; but imo not that often.
Telling someone they wear too much make up needs a lot of tact. There’s also a way of approaching the weight issue. My brother’s girlfriend has changed her diet and exercises a lot more and lost 5 stones. When telling my aunte how much she’d lost got the reaction "you must feel like a different woman". I could tell she was biting her lip and wanted to say "NO! I am the same xxxxxxx woman, I just look a bit differently! She knows my bro loved her for what she is inside, before the weight loss. Think her previous boyfriend used to put her down, so didn’t have the confidence to change. Now given "encouragement" and losing weight for her own reasons. Wonderful woman and an inspiration. I’ve recently taken up running because of her.
I know it’s easy to think of overweight as unfit and thinner as being fit; but that is not always the case. I was diagnosed with diabetis 2 at the age of 36 which has led to glaucoma. Yet I’ve never been overweight.Value Is EverythingMay 16, 2012 at 11:49 #404335Five pages in and nobody has ‘claimed’ Rebecca Curtis!! She’ll do for me.

May 16, 2012 at 14:05 #404344Some of the posts on this thread make for uncomfortable reading for a female racing fan. This should really be in the lounge and not ruining the strictly "racing discussion" board. I joined this forum to discuss horses not the relative physical merits of various females. Can we please stick to the HORSES.
May 16, 2012 at 21:31 #404367Yes, agree AOTF – it’s had its day in the sun, I’ll move to the Lounge.
