g’day
Dartguru
,
Thank you for your posting and from my own point of view I have taken your comments on board and feel it is only polite to offer a reply rather than simply to ignore it without comment.
I, just as you sound, get a little fed up at certain times, because the idea we had is yet again going the way of all the others and once more proving to be a "duffer".
But I for one do not give up that easy, crikey it only been about 25 years I have been looking for the perfect KISS system that will not take me hours to work out just one race – somehow I do not think it is out there but I will not stop no matter how fed up I get.
Time is important to me as it sounds to you and it does take time to work out my selections for the day, enter them onto a spread sheet and again enter them for the forum with the hope of some feed back as to how the said selections may possibly be improved, reduced etc. whatever!
Without the feed back it is obvious my valuable time is being wasted and with Mrs B nagging away that she wants a lift to Morrison’s because she wants to grab the bargains whilst the shelves are full, (nag, nag, nag) and then I make mistakes.
Blast I am human!
Off forum I am trying very hard and with some optimism to find a system based on the D. Mirror EW, F, SF and Spot selections plus to
Formath
‘s frustration matching them (well some of them) to some kind of
"value".
Should I arrive at something I feel worthy of posting I will do so in the hope of some feed back or it goes pear shaped and I again end up making a fool of myself.

February 14, 2011 at 17:04 #340653Thanks for your comments. Duly noted.
I hope your own statistical analysis eventually bears fruit.
You ask about HRB and the worth of the information it provides.
To be honest, without it there is no way I’d have time to work out my particular system qualifiers.
As I’ve mentioned elsewhere I use the Daily Report facility within HRB. This report will list all the basic information for the day’s runners (UK & Irish racing) such as Horse, Course & Race Time. You can then add up to 30 other items of data to suit, such as Field Size, Prize Money, Forecast Odds, Class of race, etc., etc. and download all the info in to a spreadsheet.
To be able to do this with a few mouse clicks is invaluable. I think the cost of a subscription works out at around 23p a day so for me it’s great value for money when I can access all the other stuff on the site as well.
Anyway, that’s enough about HRB.
Thanks again for taking the time to post; good luck with your research.
February 14, 2011 at 20:54 #340681Ditto the Dart geezer
Am sure there are a lot of "views" & if i or others had something useful to say am sure we would. Plus i’m new.
It seems as if this & others were a plentiful forum for replies by some of Billions & Discretedata’s comments in the past.Maybe they have found the "System" & bunked off to Barbados etc
Keep up the threads chaps

February 15, 2011 at 15:37 #340765The Spot never made it to the altar

But ….. if you had gone to the Premier League would have had a result at 2nd 25/1
February 15, 2011 at 19:42 #340798Yeah I saw that
Hatter
but to my cost chose to ignore it.
Why, you may well ask.
It was not quoted in D Mirror betting forecast and so I ask, how can I better a number when I do not know what that number is.
Charlie Bucket (Saturday) was also beaten by a neck at 25/1, so I guess it is all going in the right direction.
Who was it that said do not bet at a price higher than the number of runners in the race – well it would have missed these but as with all experiments it is a matter of data collecting and then make the hard and fast rules – as always, some will get missed.

February 15, 2011 at 20:43 #340813Ok Billion
That explains the reasoning behind Premier being missed
I thought though that you were only applying "value" to the other version & that you were continuing with Spot & EW.
It will be hard to find the ew value in forecast always, due to the nature of being an EW selection beast – higher in price hopefully & therefore at the whim of editor of paper as to how much info they put in.Best of luck – will keep playing & watching
February 15, 2011 at 22:15 #340829Well spotted
Hatter
.
I am only using the value aspect for EW VALUE and not EW + Spot the error was mine.
You know
elcartero
reached 68 today and I am only a few months behind him and one of the great advantages to age is it can be used for all manor of excuses and I therefore will claim it as "a senior moment", if you want more excuses I can rattle them off at will.
