Paul Brierley reports upcoming entries for Shisha Threesixty:
27th November in a 2m 1f 0-100 novices hurdle- going is currently soft with rain forecast and he wouldn’t run if it was soft.
Similar contest over 2m at Musselburgh Friday 30th November. We haven’t had nearly as much rain as some areas have in the east Of Scotland recently, so some hopes that the going will have mention of good in it.
After that there’s nothing suitable at Musselburgh until into the New Year. In the meantime it will be cast around for opportunities and cross fingers that the ground comes up good somewhere. Carlisle and Hexham aren’t suitable courses and are coming up heavy at the moment, Newcastle tends to be pretty much the same, Ayr has nothing before Christmas (and presumably would be bottomless anyway at the moment). Kelso has also been a slog this autumn. I suspect Catterick might be an alternative, although the ground there can get loose and tiring.

November 25, 2012 at 11:18 #420804Paul reports Shisha will miss Sedgefield as the going will be too soft. Our gelding is going to struggle to get a run at Musselburgh where he will be about number 30 and I think the limit for field size is 14, so there’s little chance of a run. Annoying since the going is Good To Soft (Soft in places), but then that’s why it will difficult to get a run.

November 29, 2012 at 11:36 #421164Predicatably Shisha Threesixty failed to make the cut at Musselburgh, the bottom weight rated 98 and Shisha now only 85. A great pity since the going is likely to be good, but then the races tomorrow have filled well because of that. Paul Brierlwy reports there were 26 declarations and Shisha missed out by 7.
There are no more suitable races this side of the New Year at Musselburgh, so it will now be fingers crossed and hope the weather stays dry elsewhere without turning excessively cold.
Trip to Wolverhampton anyone?
