Again, clive, [b:2yk6wyn1]indefensible[/b:2yk6wyn1]?
Get over yourselves.
December 11, 2007 at 09:44 #129946Maybe horse said to his connections after Arc
" I’m feeling fine and i’m raring to go and kick some US butt now boss"
December 11, 2007 at 10:16 #129952To run him in the Breeders Cup after his hard campaign was misguided. To run him in HK in the condition he was in was indefensible.
December 11, 2007 at 10:20 #129953“The time needed to recover after a long season.â€
December 11, 2007 at 10:25 #129954Of course connections are going to run horses when conditions arent 100% in their favour Aidan and one can understand why they chanced their arm in the BC.
However, there is no excuse for running him in the condition he was in the other day. He wasnt thriving – he was fat and dull and ran like a horse that had just had enough. I am just glad that previous Coolmore champions like Giants Causeway werent humiliated in this way…
December 11, 2007 at 10:25 #129955keep this up and the coolmore groupies will have us believing that he won both races in a canter
December 11, 2007 at 10:28 #129956Yes – it is almost touching that these guys genuinely think that Aidan O’Brien and his merry band can do no wrong.
I am sure O’Brien was privately very embarrassed by the condition and performance DT the other day…
December 11, 2007 at 10:33 #129957What is it in Coolmore, such a large commerical corporation, that seems to illicit such blind faith and loyalty from it’s ‘supporters’?
I think it’s only fair to ask the question again – are there connections which make you feel the way you both do? Otherwise, i find it bizarre you continue to defend the late season campaiging of Dylan Thomas.
December 11, 2007 at 10:34 #129958Can’t stick to the discussion at hand, lads? No? Why’s that?
Poor show, but not unexpected on here.
December 11, 2007 at 10:36 #129959"………………there is nothing they could do about the rain but they had the horse ready and peaked to run so why not……………."
Have you forgotten what happened to George Washington?
December 11, 2007 at 10:37 #129960Salselon – It is an Irish thing I think. Everything that O’Brien, Fallon et al do is viewed through emerald tinted spectacles.
December 11, 2007 at 10:38 #129961It is an Irish thing I think.
Showing your true colours now, tdk. Shameful, shameful stuff.
December 11, 2007 at 10:39 #129962Why shameful? Every thread criticising Coolmore is 1.01 or shorter to have Aidan (the forumite) and other Irish posters defending them on here. I am merely making an observation.
December 11, 2007 at 10:50 #129964Attempting to dismiss someone’s views based on their nationality is shameful.
If you can’t see that, you’ve got a serious problem.
December 11, 2007 at 10:55 #129965If you think Dylan Thomas should not have run in the Breeders Cup….then he should not have run in the Arc. Simple as.
So it comes down to one race…the Hong Kong Vase…and it’s that one race that is making everyone say he has been humiliated etc. Maybe he should not have run in the race but I can see why he did run in it.
December 11, 2007 at 10:55 #129966I’m not dismissing your opinion – we have managed 5 pages of argument haven’t we?
I am merely commenting that it always the case that you will see several Irish posters defending Coolmore whatever they do – just an observation…
December 11, 2007 at 11:00 #129967And equally TDK isn’t it fair to say that those people that question Coolmore or have a go at them are always the same group of people? The same people that pick at some questionable decision making at the end of Dylan Thomas’s career rather than reflect on a campaign that was both brave and adventurous. If every top class race horse was campaigned the way Dylan Thomas was this season the flat season would be all the better for it…
But no lets have a go at connections for one questionable decision….
