Looks a red hot renewal, and El Misk, West End Charmer, and Medal Winner standout, to name but three. Quite surprised at the 11’s for Misk, who I think could be very good.

I’ll stick with some outsiders though.

Protected Guest is a bit of a monkey at times, but I’m convinced he’s got a bit up his cuff. It was just the manner of his win at Yarmouth that convinced me. I’m happy to draw a line through his last run at Newmarket, and for a horse his price, I’m hopeful of a big run. Problem is the ground. The recent rain won’t help his chances, and it wouldn’t be a complete surprise to see him withdrawn, but I’m hoping to see him.

Dolphin Vista is even harder to make a case for, but he’s a proper favourite, and I feel I can make a case for him.

Yes, he was pretty poor last season, particularly here, but he’s 10lbs lower now, and having moved to Jim Boyles yard, it’s another opportunity for him to prove that he can thrive for a change of scenery. Draw could be kinder, but he’ll love the ground, and I can’t not bet him at a price like that.

So I’ve got a “Notebook” horse, and a proper old favourite in the one race, and that should be enough, but unfortunately for me, there’s another one really catching my eye.

Universal Order is another who won’t like the rain, but he’s well drawn, and on what we’ve seen of him, he just looked too big to leave out.

I’m happy to have the three running for me.

I’ll be going max places on Dolphin Vista and Protected Guest, and go win only on Universal Order, and hopefully get my stakes back for him in running.

    Dolphin Vista 66’s
    Protected Guest 66’s
    Universal Order 33’s

West End Charmer 6-1, and Durston 5-1 for me.

I do realise that saying the front two could both be very good is an easy thing to say, but I’m quite hopeful that that is the case. This isn’t is my favourite type of race to bet in, but at 6-1 and 5-1, I have to. West End Charmer is my bigger fancy of the 2

Great ride, weaving through the field (annoying though as had backed Deja!). In post race interview sounds like she has a great relationship with Scarlet Dragon.
    Well deserved win.
