Absolutely gutted to see him lose his life at Killarney tonight, and on his 100th Career Start.

Like many from the yard, it’s possibly questionable just how often the yard actually run them, but it would be hypocritical of me to criticise them, when I make a point of following them.

Not that that had any bearing on what happened tonight. Poor horse seemed to stumble up the straight, and it was clear that he was injured.

Hard one to take for me, one of my real favourites, and only five months since we also lost stablemate Kylecrue, another real favourite of mine.

On what has been a difficult day anyway, this was a horrible way to finish it.

Anyway, all that’s left to say is that he really didn’t deserve that, a grand old servant, who I’ve enjoyed following the last two, three years, and I hope that it was quick for him.

Smashing horse who always gave his all.

Horrible, VtC. A cult hero of a racehorse, much like old Kylecrue.

I thought the same but I think I remember a comment from the trainer saying he goes easy on them at home. They seemed to pretty much keep fit and sharp by racing rather than lots of work on the gallops. They still looked to enjoy it, and the fact that they were honest and competitive into double figures suggests they did.
Two proper racehorses that it must have been a pleasure to own.

Sad news Vtc, we get to love the horses we follow so regularly and look forward to seeing them like old friends, know how you are feeling tonight. Lovely genuine horse.

    RIP
