    Doncaster Free Press paper edition has reported today that officials at Doncaster have decided not to build an all weather track on Town Moor for the time being.

    Ray Nortrop of the pressure group Doncaster Council Watch put this question to the council at a meeting in the mansion house on 22 Oct 2007.

    "With the reinstatement this summer of racing at Doncaster, Yorkshire now has the benefit of having Britain’s supreme racing facilities. The unfortunate question that frequently arises about racing in Yorkshire, is when the region will have an all-weather surface?

    Mr. Winter, the time has arrived for Doncaster to explore the possibilities of having Yorkshire’s first all-weather track. Keeping racing going through the winter months, would greatly enhance the local economy and be a boon to owners and trainers, who have to incur considerable transportation costs from Yorkshire to Southwell and Wolverhampton, which are the nearest all-weather surfaces to Doncaster.â€
