15 13-111 Yeats 43 A P O´Brien [/list:u:1scvaaha]Yeats, Yeats, Yeats again?
Whilst it looks like Yeats is unbeatable at the moment I think Luca Cumani’s runner Sanbuch has showed good form recently and could be in the mix albeit being caught out by the front run of Tungesten Strike last time out.
What price can you see Yeats going off at?
Can anyone challenge the mighty O’Brien horse?
September 6, 2008 at 17:04 #179697Yeats ought to win this pretty easily on all known form, but he seems to off a bit at this time of the year.
Maybe one of the mares will mug him.
September 6, 2008 at 17:47 #179709To be fair, Yeats has valid had excuses for his couple of defeats at this time of year. Not his best trip (’06 Irish Leger), tactics and course (’07 Cadran) and lumps of weight (Melbourne Cup).
I can’t see him being beaten if he turns up here.
September 6, 2008 at 18:01 #179713Thanks for putting up the type
halfway – more should copy you.

in the charge of the light brigadeSeptember 7, 2008 at 02:43 #179796Sorry – Yeats didn’t lose through the topweight in the Melbourne Cup, he lost because he was left flat-footed at the top of the straight.
You ask Kieran Fallon and he’ll tell you – immediately after the race his response to APO’B was: "He needs the speed trained into him."
Now, I think APO’B and Coolmore would care more about tallying more Gold Cups onto his record than a Melbourne Cup. So if in the unlikely instance that Yeats will run in the Melbourne Cup again, you can rule a line already.
September 7, 2008 at 16:45 #179894Septimus has been primed for the Melbourne Cup. He’s definitely being held back for an autumn campaign.
September 11, 2008 at 18:23 #180489Sanbuch for me tomorrow.
Recent trendline through Tungesten Strike says to me that Sanbuch may have the upper hand here.
Sanbuch’s recent defeats have seen the horse finishing strong and I think this trip is shorter than Honolulu’s optimum trip.
9/1 is great value
