It’s hard to imagine a dog (or any other animal) having a concept of a machine, so presumably they must think a car is another beast.
    What do you reckon?

There are videos of dogs riding skateboards though, in this case is the dog under the assumption that hes tamed a 4-wheeled-animal and is riding it like a dragon, or is he merely confused?

I’m pretty sure that dogs perceive cars as inanimate objects, they just might not like the sounds they make. But being the instinctive animals they are, they can probably sense that cars are no living beings. I mean people usually say that dogs can smell fear and if they are clever like that they can probably ‘smell’ that cars are not animals.
    Just my opinion though!

I think it depends on how close they get, like you say, they’ll be able to smell and sense that it’s not real but from a distance they probably do.
A friend of mine was chased through a park by a stag. It was mating season and he was on his bike and thought that the stag must have thought he was another deer.

Yes but I think they have worked out that they can’t eat them, be eaten by them or shag them, so they generally get ignored by most.
