In fairness,
It does seem only one or two posters who persist in starting this type of thread anyway.
Still sitting in judgement, anyone would think you own the Forum.
Hopefully, others will take on board the previous post from Oh So Sharp.
As you are one of the "two" I was referring to Stilvi, expected a comment of that ilk. Not sitting in judgement, surely everyone is entitled to an opinion and make suggestions. I do however, find it stange such an amateur steward who sits in "judgement" over so many jockeys/rides; should moan about someone else so called "judging" them.
At least I am not calling in to question your integrity Stilvi.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 22, 2011 at 16:58 #371672Owners, jockeys and trainers criticised on these pages without their knowledge and therefore come back, deserve to be strongly defended.
Anyone making those critisisms and or judgement on said people’s integrity, should expect their opinions to be robustly challenged.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 22, 2011 at 17:11 #371674Grayson I disagree , idiots like that Oh so Sharp , who are used to personalising putrid comments give more evidence that the standard of posters and posts has bombed big style
If only we had some quality and less of the inane it would be damn good
Trf has plummeted in my estimation , to the extent I hardly bother reading any more
You can have it , we need a new broom !!!!

September 22, 2011 at 20:03 #371691idiots like that Oh so Sharp ,
Its idiots like me,(Miss Oh So Sharp) who love reading this forum,i have felt in the past that several big names who have since left are sorely missed as they make good reading, there are still plenty on here who can debate without the name calling unfortunately you are not one of them,in fact i dont recall a single thread started by your good self that i have read! And yet you are quick to criticise all those who have an opinion different than your own,not that from any evidence i have seen you are actually worthy of one that could be valued, Mr Negativety,in fact if everyone had your attitude nobody would contribute a thing and whilst we’re at it smarty pants, what gives you the authority to ‘Expect’ better contributions when its blatantly obvious you cant compete!Little Men like you are obviously lacking in the trouser department!

the irrepressible Mr Ricky Lake
who may occasionally describe snow
in grey clumps and yes
can throw large snowballs
but one cannot deny
his good aim at racecourses
up and down the land
and yes,
his balls are always
a very good read.Sharpie I have enjoyed your input
over time and yes my time machine is
stuck so I am also more and more
a reader like you.Possibly you should go back
to your long haired avatar
as I am not so sure that
knife really suits you.
We sheep are constantly in fear
of women with sharp tongues
and implementsThere is no doubt this house
has taken a bit of a buffering
and battering over the year
and I may talk more on the
climate in bleak service.
If
and its a big if…
If I can get this damn
time machine goingSeptember 23, 2011 at 08:43 #371724thank you Kind Sheep ….much appreciated , its time for a long break from this outpost , apart from a few excellent posters , the drivel is constant
As we await the onslaught of the winter 0/50 festivals I leave you to enjoy the dross both on the track and on this outpost
adieu

September 23, 2011 at 10:31 #371737Many moons ago we all wanted more sections of TRF, Big Race Discussion, Horse Racing etc. These have been a success and not saying I want to go back. But I wonder whether this has made the amount of (for want of a better word) "negative" posts/threads stand out more these days. Being a greater percentage of threads in this section in particular. And those who like talking about the racing industry/politics etc have been put off.
There has probably been an increase of such posts, but exaggerated by numbers of sections /subsections.
However, it may be more to do with the advancing "bloggesphere/twittersphere" why some don’t frequent our domain, rather than quality of post.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 23, 2011 at 11:01 #371739Ginger your shifting crowd theory
may have destroyed the middle ground
but also time is much shorter now
haven’t you noticed ?
Them bills have to be paid !Ricky as the lights dim
in this bleak outpost as
winter approaches why not
take in the bright lights
of the strip and book yourself
into the old flamingo. If you can’t stand ninety minutes
of Donny and Marie they do
a red rummy in the cocktail lounge
and if you want a snowstorm
in preference to a snowball
they’ll even play
I hate americans if you
slip them a tennerSeptember 23, 2011 at 11:58 #371744As we await the onslaught of the winter 0/50 festivals I leave you to enjoy the dross both on the track and on this outpost
Ricky
It’s statements like THIS which drag the forum down.
If you leaving the forum make sure you go for a good long while & let people who actually like racing have a say.
September 23, 2011 at 13:09 #371752It’s understandable that as
Ricky writes with a broad brush
he must expect the odd broad brush reply
aka Scamperdale’s and Oh So Sharp’s.I like variety of opinion on forums
and sometimes expressed in harsh terms.
There must be a balance though
we dont like too much spittingRicky has many years of racing experience.
It is true he has been very negative about
the racing product and the direction
that product is going.
Negativism can be constructive
and we must surely hear both sides.September 23, 2011 at 19:48 #371791I will defend the size of this member
Your outposts welcome

I dare say I could carry you

you as I respect you both
as interesting contributors.

the energy of the spat

not to Furnace Creek, but to Mayhem,It gets hot on here too,
Temperatures rising.
The bitter taste of salt
blows from a dried up Lake.
Nothing survives in a furnace,
Mayhem was the signpost
he never made it,
my blade exposed

no sight no flight
nothing breathes
nothing moves
nothing dares to
