Depends on how much rain we actually get. If its 24mm he won’t be running. If it’s half that he will probably take his chance. Tricky decision for the lads and very surprised Henry longfellow wasn’t on the bench. If he doesn’t run he will be put away for next season. Frustrating but that’s the way it goes.

I think City Of Troy will take his chances and run as his Group 1 opportunities are running out.
Weather set to be dry tomorrow and Newmarket drains very well. Jac. :good:

It’s seems strange to me betting against City Of Troy, and I’ll be behind the sofa watching him, if he does take his chance here. I’ve taken the angle though that the vibes aren’t strong for today, taking 33-1 ew on Indian Run. I’ll obviously be desperate for City Of Troy to win and win well

CITY OF TROY hardly looked at all inconvenienced by good to soft at Newmarket (July) and bare form suggests he’s a mile clear of 2nd in the market IBERIAN, is soft ground really going to be that much of an issue? The classiest of the classy tend to get through anything. If he does get beat then he’s just a potentially very good horse and dents that wow factor for now and the future.

I hope City of Troy wins in style to keep TRF happy over the winter ;-) but I don’t bet odds on so I’ve got my ew 50p on the lovely mature baby Henry Adams.

Fair play to let COT run. Buick reported ground to be very soft and hard work.

If he gets turned over he’ll get roasted , he’ll need guts not a turn of foot to win today in that

Very happy with that. The further he went, the better he went.

A nice winter to strengthen up and then it is all about the first Saturday in May.

    He’s some horse.

Regards the ground. I’m not sure he’s that bothered. His dam won a G1 on soft and his sire won 2 legs of the triple crown on really sloppy dirt going. AOB just likes to talk **** sometimes.

Times of both races at Newmarket so far only 2 secs slower than standard. How soft is it?
