Did any other forum member watch this last night ? Derren Brown investigating Liverpool medium/psychic, Joe Power.
Let’s get one thing very clear from the off on where I stand ; no human being possesses any "special" psychic powers – not Joe Bloggs, Joe Ninety or indeed, Joe Power.
Every man and woman who make such claims are liars and charlatans. Of course, as Derren Brown rightly pointed out, there is no way of proving or disproving their claims that they "talk" with dead people – and it is because of this that they carry on creaming money from the vulnerable and gullible, regardless.
Derren Brown exposed Joe Power for what he is; a thick, aggressive, foul-mouthed charlatan. His body language told a thousand truths amid all his lies. When Derren Brown looked him staright in the eye and asked him if he was a fake, Joe Power smiled wryly before vehemently denying he was. Said it all. One deluded, obnoxious and devious individual. Just how Derren Brown managed to keep his cool when faced with this loathesome man is beyond me.

Very intersting subject this and in all honesty I’ve always felt the same way as you Himself about these type of folk.
The Wife is well into all that stuff though and regularly sees a woman along with about 6 other people. She comes round our house about every 6 months and gives them all a personal reading.
As I say, I’ve never gone in for anything like that but have to say some of the things she has told the missus in the past is very intriguing.
Admittedly there’s things that are totally wide of the mark, but on the other hand she’s told her things and predicted stuff that you just couldn’t predict and couldn’t guess.
It’s getting to the point with me now that I may have to go against everything I ever believed in and actually have a reading myself to prove to me one way or another if I do truly believe.
It worked for me with the hypnotist’s. I spent years in my youth growing up watching that Paul Mckenna show believing it was all amde up and he paid people to act about and be silly on stage, but a few years ago I took part in a stage hypnotist show and ‘fell under’ and did things I 100% certainly wouldn’t have done if I hadn’t been hypnotised!
