Left it late this year and tickets are no longer on sale for the Grandstand on Derby day. What kind of a premium would you pay from the touts selling outside and are they reliable?

Not sure, Colin, but touts aren’t known for reliability.

Last year, there was some kerfuffle involving folk buying tickets that were not accepted ( so I heard, as I was in the course at 9.30am). Apparently, there were some angry scenes outside.

Dunno what’s going on with modern ideas like barcoding etc, but I felt that there were less touts about at Chester this year.

Perhaps, a request for spare tickets though a forum would produce results?

I used to always buy early but haven’t done so for a few years now as tickets are readily available outside the course. I’ve never paid more than a fiver over the odds and have never had any issues. Same at Cheltenham on the one week I went there for the festival.

(Not that I’m advocating buying touted tickets)
