Well done Ruby
I love Vincenzo but he doesn’t want to pass at the business end
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
December 13, 2025 at 14:01 #1747464Thank you all. A brilliant Bowen ride from the front, but an error-free Jagwar would have been a very impressive winner. He left his hindlegs quite a few times in the birch.

December 13, 2025 at 14:04 #1747466Nice one Ruby
December 13, 2025 at 14:05 #1747467Jumping is the name of the game Ruby
December 13, 2025 at 14:08 #1747469Thanks Mike and sarge. You’re right HDLG, but just imagine him being able to jump properly in addition to that engine.
December 13, 2025 at 14:12 #1747470WD Ruby. A cracking ride from Bowen that.
I thought I was on the right one in Vincenzo but beginning to think he’s not genuine now.
As for Jagwar. A phenomenal run with the worst jockey of the modern era onboard. That horse is probably of Grade 1 calibre but will never fulfil it with Jr onboard.

A grade 1 horse?? Don’t see him beating Fact To File myself regardless of the jockey. Sticky jumper.
December 13, 2025 at 14:20 #1747473Ends the crap about Bowen not being able to ride from the front ( it was nonsense as proven in last season’s Irish GN)
He can judge paceDecember 13, 2025 at 14:21 #1747475Thanks GM. At 50s EW he is a bit tempting for the Ryanair, imo.
December 13, 2025 at 14:30 #1747476Well done Ruby.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 13, 2025 at 14:35 #1747477Thanks RTB.
Looking at today’s times I doubt the going is good to soft. I’d rather think it’s quite fast. How many winners from the front? Three or so…
December 13, 2025 at 15:08 #1747486Nice bet, ERL.
Not taking anything away from the winner. He is clearly good and got the best ride from the best jockey.
I just wonder if Vicenzo (my bet) might have gone closer if he had jumped the last more cleanly and landed with more momentum? He was iffy at one or two other fences as well. Not convinced by Johnston just yet.
As for O’Neill, McManus needs to stop being sentimental. I didn’t back the horse but I think he would have won by two or three lengths with a competent jockey on board.
December 13, 2025 at 17:55 #1747514Thanks CAS. Agree with you about Jonjo jr. being the wrong jockey for so many horses trained by his father. Considering the traditional annual bug which seems to affect the stable with certainty, you don’t get much value for having a horse with them.
December 13, 2025 at 20:06 #1747525WD Ruby!
Great ride by Bowen.
December 13, 2025 at 21:58 #1747541Nice work, Ruby. What would he have won by if he’d been in the handicap?
December 13, 2025 at 22:38 #1747544Thanks DBRDBR and Joe. Interesting to see that the horse was as high as 146 OR when with Willie. The new stable did a great job of lowering the handicap mark through the summer. However the 33/1 behind a horse attached to AP’s yard must mean that he told the syndicate something like: “Listen, I’m involved with the JP owned horses, this one (Jagwar) must be unbeatable, just like the rest. Don’t bother backing yours….”
