    What was he thinking?
    About to go outside, as in around a horse coming back to him….tired….instead cuts back inside and follows it over the hurdle only to be brought down by the tired horse in front of, him, of which he was about to go around?
    I’m no jockey, and yes speaking through my wallet, but is it just me or did he make a big error in judgement there?
    She Might Bite was the horse in question…

    I didn’t see the race but if you had seen Paul Townend get beat on the odds on Pont Aven in Ireland you would have been gobsmacked. I have never seen a poorer ride in a long time.

    Just watched that and I agree that was a very poor ride from Townend – repeatedly went for narrow gaps between horses or up the inside when they simply weren’t there, confusing his mount and losing the race.
