There were a few posts on Dawn Approach in the news section of the Godolphin website on Saturday including this one:

Sheikh Mohammed is quoted as saying“I think that he will get a mile or a mile and a quarter but I don’t know if he is a Derby horse yet. I think the trainer will see."….. When asked if Dawn Approach would remain in training with his present trainer Jim Bolger, Sheikh Mohammed replied: “Yes.”…… Simon Crisford is quoted “He stays with Jim Bolger and that is Sheikh Mohammed’s decision".
October 15, 2012 at 10:25 #416806Godolphin announced Jim Bolger would be training Dawn Approach as a 3 year old immediately after they bought a half share in him (Dawn Approach that is).
Value Is EverythingOctober 15, 2012 at 12:46 #416812Great idea to leave him with Jim Bolger. Then they can put all the blame on him when he gets stuffed in the Guineas instead of one of their Arab buddies.
October 15, 2012 at 13:03 #416816Unusually, Dawn Approach (30-100 favourite) had his first start as early as March and was emulating his sire New Approach in landing both the Dewhurst and the National Stakes. Both now look likely to be Europe’s champion two-year-old as well.
October 15, 2012 at 18:54 #416851Is it possible there may have been something in the purchase contract about where he would be trained?
Mike Cattermole was VERY careful how he was asking THE question and SM gave him a long hard look before answering. I bet Mike’s heartbeat went up a notch or two.
Time to lump on for the Guineas?

No Dear boy that was after the ‘Coventry’ when Ladbrokes
refused to knockback their standout 16/1 for 3 whole weeks
when the rest of the High St were going 10/1 and less!

May I ask where you got that piece of information Ginger? Where and when was the announcement made?October 16, 2012 at 14:53 #416956The way
Jim B
came across in his interviews he didn’t know that either?
October 16, 2012 at 17:42 #416959The Guardian were reporting the following on 2nd Oct Ginge.
But in doing so the trainer knows that, even if the colt fulfils that ambitious plan, it may well be from another stable, with Sheikh Mohammed having bought a 51% controlling interest in Dawn Approach after his Royal Ascot victory in the Coventry Stakes.
"Anyone who is over 18 years of age understands how these things work," said Bolger, who said no discussion has yet taken place as to who will train Dawn Approach next year.
October 16, 2012 at 18:39 #416965I heard it from TV, RUK or ATR, may be even C4? It’s possible they were just speculating, but it sounded like a done deal.
Value Is EverythingOctober 19, 2012 at 01:00 #417273I’m impressed you took that statement from whoever it was to the bank Ginger.Everything that I heard was exactly the opposite.
