What a great fillip for him after losing the Gigginstown job.
Riding a treble, including the Gold Cup.
What a way to bounce back to prominence. Well done !March 14, 2014 at 20:39 #471888What a day indeed and what a very nice guy he seems, a few years back he lost his job at Ferdy Murpy’s and as you say this year for Ryanair and he must have the biggest ever accumulator
ever on 3 runners at any Cheltenham festival and I backed none of them sadly.March 14, 2014 at 21:00 #471896I don’t disagree however I don’t think he is a particular good jockey.
Yes he had a treble but IMHO he as got beaten on many a horse that should have won.
Tony Martin said today that Russell had said it was his fault that Ted Veale fell in the Arkle as he did not present him right at the fence which I would say he does many a time and hence him losing his job with Gigginstown.
Sorry he is not for me and normally if he is on a horse I fancy I don’t back it.March 14, 2014 at 23:49 #471944No Idea, I never said he was the champ of all champs but what a great day for him, a life changer in his older years of riding.
Mr.Grumpy is available now at 33/1 on his next six rides but you are probably already on ante-poste.
March 15, 2014 at 01:21 #471959Really pleased for him after losing that job unjustly in my opinion why do these owners jump on the bandwagon, yes Bryan cooper is a great young up and coming jockey but it’s to early in my opinion.
Also look at Paul Carberry back year after year. Experience over potential at cheltenham any day of the week.
Roll on cheltenham 2015 what a festival!
RIP our Conor, stack the deck, akdam and raya star.
