Guys it look like Golf back in June that what PGA said 1st 4 events played behind closed doors with
Charles Schwaab challenge 1st eventApril 16, 2020 at 16:24 #1487383That’s brilliant news Darren, even although the crowds missing might make the
atmosphere seem a bit tepid it’s still great to hear that there is some light
at the end of the tunnel. Hope you are keeping well mate, I’m missing our
weekly get togethersApril 17, 2020 at 12:32 #1487408They reckon European Tour Events might be two a week when they come back whenever that is. Can’t see it myself but here’s hoping.
Stay safe folks and I mean that!!!!!

June 9, 2020 at 14:43 #1490267Hi Darren, it’s great to be back
I hope Raymo puts in an appearance too, I’ve missed our club a great deal.
I hope we can kick off with a winner or twoCharles Schwab Challenge
Brooks Koepka 25/1 Sky 9 places (33/1 8 places 1st round leader market)
If this were taking place at any time last year I would expect Brooks to be vying for favourite,
no matter who else was entered, but his form tailed off badly at the start of this year before
the lockdown. They all will be cutting their teeth on this tournament after the imposed break,
so it’s possible we could have a surprise winner, but he is class and as good as anyone in the
world when his A game is back. You can get 28/1, but I thought that the 9 places being on offer
by Sky was worth dropping a few points.Tony Finau 40/1 8 places W Hill (40/1 8 places Boylesports 1st round leader market)
He’s not a player I pick a lot, he should have won more times than he has and as good as
he is he can be frustrating. He only has 1 tour win under his belt, but a string of top 10s
which show he can play. I’m hoping that that this tournament suits his eye as he only found
Kevin Na too good last year. Can hit low rounds when on song so worth a go on the 1st round
betting.Joaquin Niemann 80/1 Sky 9 places (80/1 W Hill 6 places 1st round leader market)
Like Koepka, he finished off the season in poor form with 3 straight missed cuts. So again trust
is taken that the enforced absence has had him tinkering with his game and he can get back to the
kind of form that saw him win the Greenbrier last September. He played here last year, and 3 rounds
of 70 and one of 71 saw him just outside the top 25, and he was even better the year before with a
T8, so he knows his way around the course. He’s a young player who is going places, I hope he gets
off to a flyer this week.Andrew Putnam 150/1 8 places W Hill (90/1 8 places Boylesports 1st round leader)
There seems to be a theme running here, he’s another who finished with 3 straight missed cuts before
the enforced virus break. They say a break is as good as a rest, and hopefully he will be well rested
and ready for this. He’s another that this tournament suits his eye having finished T20 2 years back
and then bettered that last year with T3. If his putter is on song, he is something else. He might be
the biggest odds of my 4, but I’ve just got a gut feeling that he will do well here. That’s me done this week Darren, good luck mate and hopefully we see Raymo back soon
June 11, 2020 at 04:05 #1490357Evening all! Great to see you all fit and well in these crazy times.
Took some time off the golf betting in the run up to Cheltenham this year but I’m back and raring to go for the Schwab Challenge! I’ve gone for:
– Rahm 2pt E/W (12/1 – 10 places)
– Rose 1pt E/W (50/1 – 8 places)
– Palmer 1pt E/W (70/1 – 9 places)
– Dahmen 0.6pt E/W (80/1 – 9 places)
– Harman 0.6pt E/W (100/1 – 9 places)
– Higgs 0.5pt E/W (200/1 – 9 places)Haven’t made my mind up yet but may be having a few quid on Ryan Palmer for a top 20 finish at 10/3 as well. He’s excellent round this course. The 70/1 to win looked a cracking bet at the time and he’s shortened this week since too. Might well be getting involved with that 10/3 before the start tomorrow. Think Rahm is the most likely of the top dogs. 12/1 with the boost was enough for me to have a couple of points each way.
Good luck as always lads.
June 11, 2020 at 14:10 #1490376Good to see you MOM, and best of luck with your guys
The site is playing up again, I’ve been trying to post this for over an hour
I had picked out another 2 that I fancied, but decided to keep to
four. Waiting for the golf to start, I got that feeling “what if”
so just to be safe I’ve stuck them both on. That’s a one off and I’ll
be back to 4 max from next week.Sungjae Im 35/1 8 places W Hill (33/1 8 places Boylesports 1st round betting)
He’s been a big favourite of mine for a while and has done me well in
the past, such as the Honda Classic he won in March and then a 3rd place
in the Arnold Palmer before the tour closed down. He’s very capable of
starting off where he finished off.Christiaan Bezuidenhout 80/1 8 places W Hill (80/1 6p Betfred 1st round betting)
He’s talented but also quite a streaky player. He had a bad last round 79 in the Arnold Palmer,
but still finished in the top 20, it should have been much better. Earlier in March he had
another top 20 result in the WGC HSBC Champions. You’ll pretty much know early on if he’s on
a going day or not, if he is he has a shout at big odds.I’m sending a search party out for Raymo
June 12, 2020 at 15:45 #1490428When last time see Raymo on forum guys hope he fine
How Grimes to
Nice to see you MOM Hope things ok
Happy with Speith joint leader now during 2nd round
June 12, 2020 at 19:43 #1490454Hi Darren I know Raymo was fine last week, he was in the 4 day competition at
Newmarket. He had to fork out the cream cakes again as Mrs Raymo hit it out the
parkYou’re sitting pretty with Speith, he’s just 1 back of Varner. I had a few quid
on Rose to be 2nd round leader at 10/1 with Paddy Power before he had his 2 birdies,
but he looks like dropping 1 at the 3rd. Not looking so good now but still a good
way to go. My nearest is Sungjae Im, he’s 6 off the lead at 5 under but still got most
of his round to go.Maybe Raymo will drop in for a late punt after the cut
June 13, 2020 at 11:18 #1490508Hi Guys Sorry I missed the golf this week. Didn’t even know they were playing till a mate ang me and asked who I had backed
I will watch yours and cheer em on and save my money till next week
June 13, 2020 at 12:16 #1490515Good to see you back in here Raymo
Unless mine buck up their ideas, you’re not going to have much
to cheer onAt least darren is in with a shout with Speith just 1 shot off the
lead. By the looks of it the 3 of us are likely to be cheering
him on come Sunday eveningJune 13, 2020 at 12:27 #1490517The 3 Musketeers are back in business
June 13, 2020 at 13:31 #1490521Yeah come on the Jordan Speith lads!!!! I’ve backed him too (only a small bet tho £5 e/w at 16/1) – that double bogey yesterday made me feel sick!!! At least he recovered with the two birdies towards the end – despite another bogey after the double lol.
Bryson looks like an absolute beast after his gym work! Think he had 9 drives over 330 yards yesterday!!! Definitely one to be backing in future majors.
But for now, roll on Speith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come on!!!!!! 7pm tee off or so, bit of time to wait.
June 13, 2020 at 13:35 #1490522Cheers botchy, it feels great to be back. All we need to do now
is to bag a few winnersJune 13, 2020 at 13:43 #1490527Darren very nice getting 50s on Speith! Good job!!!!
BigG come on mate may as well have a cheeky inplay bet to make the last couple rounds a bit more fun :D
Also on a side note – do you or anyone remember the name of the young Asian lad (think he’s Korean) that won a tournament this year before lockdown? Think I remember the commentators saying he’d plays every week and never misses anything – I’m pretty sure he was a young Korean lad in his early/mid 20’s. Thought he was one to keep an eye on but can’t remember his name!
June 13, 2020 at 14:34 #1490537Hi Ben I was typing my post up, and got called away, so when I posted
I hadn’t seen your post. You’ve got a great shout with Speith I’m not
giving up with Sungjae Im, who is probably the Korean golfer you were
talking about. I’m a big fan of his and he’s won me a good few quid.
He’s 5 under here, 6 off the lead, but definitely the type of player
who can shoot very low, so with 2 rounds left you never know.June 13, 2020 at 15:05 #1490544No need to apologies mate! Just googled him and you are spot on it’s Sungjae Im I was thinking of!
Can’t wait for this evenings golf!
