Mohaather looks a certainty to me if turning up
Crowley is already jocked up so has to be likely
Took a bit of 4/1 off ladbrokes on monday when prices first went up
Still some 3/1 with 1 firm but he is a sea of blue elsewhere
And with Buick and doyle jocked up on other horses the current 2nd fav space blues must be a very doubtful runner this could turn into a guilt edge chance for mohaather and he could go off shorter than 6/4 imo
The trainer said the other day they wanted to get a run into him before the Sussex stakes likely at newmarket in lesser company since he has no penalties
He will take a lot of beating here imo and if turning up in the GP 1 foret over 7f on Arc day
June 24, 2020 at 16:38 #1491768Any concerns about the ground if it turns out good to firm? Mohaather only ran on GF once which was on his 2nd start while rest of races were GS or heavy
June 24, 2020 at 17:09 #1491770Showers forecast on friday and saturday from what I can see
Should prevent it from getting too firm
And both his dam and sire liked firm ground so it wouldnt worry me
Given his natural speed he may even improve for it
I suppose the issue Is more whether the trainer wants to run a horse who has been on the fragile side on firm ground not so much if he will act on it
It seemed worth the risk at 4/1
June 24, 2020 at 21:01 #1491780Space blues is running tomorrow in france yet all these bookies still have him 2nd fav
June 25, 2020 at 11:15 #1491809Looks like hes a non runner
Just part of ante post betting I suppose, gotta risk the occasional non runner if you want to get the value
Looks an awful race now
June 25, 2020 at 12:41 #1491814The perils of antepost FF91! I looked at the race too with Space Blues off to France, and while i couldn’t rule out a big run from Limato, i couldn’t work out why Mohaather was the price he was given his eye-catching run at Ascot.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 25, 2020 at 16:28 #1491832Jockey bookings are very interesting here. Perhaps reading too much into it but it is food for thought.
Buick has seemingly chosen the lower rated of the two Godolphin horses who is untested outside of handicap company.
Has Ryan Moore decided to ride for Hannon rather than being on Limato? You’d think he’d have first dibs on the spares going with Harry Bentley at Newcastle. Kirby has never ridden Limato before.
Jim Crowley has picked the lesser exposed of the Hamdan Al Maktoum horses over the one with a credible recent run to his name.
Dettori getting the spare on Vale Of Kent – won the Bunbury Cup on him at the July course, this one less of a surprise but noteworthy nonetheless.
De Sousa is absent from Newmarket altogether – suggests there are better King Power opportunities elsewhere on Saturday.
No Mosse on Sir Dancealot – been on top for his last 5 wins. This is easily explained, I don’t know if he’s riding in Britain at all this season but undoubtedly a negative for me with the greatest of respect to Sean Levey who is a top jockey in his own right. Sir Dancealot is one of those horses who needs a certain ride and all the cards to drop right and Mosse’s riding style seems to suit the horse. It won’t be easy conceding a penalty first time up either.
All things told I can see both Godolphin horses being there or thereabouts and Vale Of Kent is in superb form at the moment and should run his race, I’m suspecting at his age maybe Limato might come on for the run? Turjomaan in the first time visor is my selection, very lightly raced at group level, the form with Duke Of Hazzard in last years Thoroughbred Stakes was well advertised by the winner going on to take the Summer Mile and he was thrown in at the deep end last time in the Queen Anne for one with so little experience, I’m hoping he had an easy time of things once his chance was gone and I’m happy to draw a line under the performance at face value.
June 25, 2020 at 17:40 #1491836Hope no rain took 4s on Limato earlier this week
June 26, 2020 at 17:54 #1491895Limato won’t mind a drop of rain Darren and Newmarket drains very well. He loves winning at Newmarket be it the July Course or Rowley Mile. He’s the class horse in this race and as much as I love my Godolphin horses I can’t see either On The Warpath or Mubtasim beating him..
Of Sheikh Hamdam’s duo Yafta has never won over 7 furlongs and Turjomaan definitely needs the skills of Jim Crowley to bring out the best in him as he has been far from straightforward and currently seems to prefer AW surface.
I would have liked to have seen Harry Bentley on board Limato but he’s booked for a talented Kirsten Rausing filly Aloe Vera at Doncaster and a ride in the Northumberland Plate. No worries about Adam Kirby on board LIMATO knows his way home but with closed door racing he’ll just be looking round the paddock wondering where all his adoring fans are tomorrow.
JacLIMATO.. Win .. 3/1…Paddy Power
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 26, 2020 at 18:57 #1491898Another on the Limato train here, merely because he’s an old favourite of mine and I cant help but be emotionally and financially involved. I agree its a shame normal pilot Mr Bentley isn’t on board but no issues at all with Adam Kirby, who is in great form. My biggest concern is his first time out form in the last few years which isnt great (4004) and also he’s now an 8 year old but he owes me absolutely nothing. I have backed him at 6/1 each way antepost. Good luck old boy
June 26, 2020 at 22:53 #1491913Contemplating a bet on mubtasim
His form finishing ahead of glorious journey, speak in colours and suedois looks solid in the context of this race
I’m loathe to go in again having already done my money on mohaather but I’m very tempted
Buick has chosen on the warpath which is a worry but mubtasim has beaten that one over C&D giving 4lbs and this is off levels
In fact iv talked myself into it and have taken some of the 8.20 on betfair
June 26, 2020 at 23:02 #1491914Vale Of Kent @ 9/2
June 27, 2020 at 00:13 #1491917Wish you luck with Mubtasim FF.
I really like both the Godolphin horses and they have a high success rate at Newmarket but worry that neither of them have won a Group race between them and this is a big step up in class.Limato is a proper Group horse in this race, he’s only little and won”t grab your eye tomorrow like the Godolphin boys and Sir Dancealot but he gets the job done and has a big heart that’s why we all love him so much.

Best of luck FF and to all with runners..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 27, 2020 at 09:14 #1491931I’ve gone for Mubtasim 5-1 ew. But in the without Limato market. That seemed the sensible way to go for me as Limato’s first time record is a concern. Now I can watch it and not worry about what Limato is doing.
June 27, 2020 at 09:27 #1491936my favorite little horse runs in this, old limato he is 8 now so may not even be up to this level any more but i still backed him at 6-1 last week – had so many good days and bad days following him over the years, great he is still in training, hope he comes back in one piece and hope weather forecast is wrong as like most of us limato doesnt like the rain!
June 27, 2020 at 09:46 #1491939Best of luck Mike
and coops with 6/1 Limato wish I’d got on earlier. There has been some overnight rain but not enough to stop Limato if he’s fit and on form today. Being a gelding what else can he do but turn out for these races and do his best, as Clints said previously he owes us nothing. Looking forward to this.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 27, 2020 at 09:51 #1491940Just had an EW bet on
Sir Dancelot at 14/1 and put him in forecast eith Limato.
Usually SD is a big paddock eyecatcher so hoping the price drops before the race.
