That should teach KP, maybe if he stops being a drama queen he can play for England again, good decision.
RIP Sid Waddell, the voice of darts for it’s modern lifetime, huge shoes to fill.
Martin Gould won the latest PTC continuing the theme of winners coming from outside the top half dozen, Ronnie has stopped being a drama queen and signed the contract and will be out of retirement for the China International in December, nobody is bigger than the game particularly when it is on the up again.
Rory didn’t mess about and as Sid might have said "When Alexander of Macedonia was 33 he cried salt tears because there were no worlds left to conquer. Rory’s only 23."
August 15, 2012 at 10:22 #409840Hopefully the ECB will release a bland statement not saying when KP will be selected again, they should also say that if he wants to apologise he should stand in front of a camera and do it properly.
Rory is a proper winner, 2 majors at 23 unlike Westwood and Donald who couldn’t find one in almost 150 attempts – clinchers disease?
Time to ship RVP out now, stop hanging about for that extra million or few and put him on the train before they change their mind, the team will be stronger this year without him.
Looks like a straight battle between the old guard this season and the only two teams to finish in CL positions every year of the premiership and the only two teams with a proper manager
August 15, 2012 at 19:44 #409875I’ve always thought Pieterson was a selfish prat. To me the only time he looked genuine celebrating was when he had scored a century. His celebrating of wins / catches / team mates centuries, always looked forced to me.
His mocking of Mitchell Johnson in the away Ashes win was disgraceful.
Hope he’s a goner from the England scene.
Regarding Sid – RIP, terrific commentator. That aside, does anyone else think him and Hal from Quantum Leap were one and the same person?
August 16, 2012 at 03:32 #409896Somebody mentioned to me recently that Ronnie was being lined up to appear on the next Strictly Come Dancing, if true that could explain his absence from the snooker scene until December.
RIP Sid, the voice of darts and a true commentating legend "The crowd couldn’t get anymore excited if Elvis walked in and asked for a chip butty." Absolute classic.
August 19, 2012 at 11:07 #410154So, in the texts that KP sent to his South African mates he criticised his team mates, management, called his captain a see you next tuesday and told them how to bowl at him to get him out. After the game he went for a celebratory beer with them. There can be no way back from there, we are not that desperate for him as talented as he is, he can stick to IPL and maybe do a stint on strictly or CBB.
Mobile phones and sports people do not mix.
Doubt that Ronnie will have time for dancing as even with a limited snooker campaign he’ll be committed to qualifying rounds and tournaments which would probably clash.
Looks like Sid will be getting a statue at the Ally Pally so he’ll be at the darts every year now.
