A heads up, I won’t be continuing the group 1 + 2 competition that ran last year, I enjoyed the competition but it was too time consuming
but don’t worry as we have plenty of competitions throughout the Summer to get stuck into starting with a Craven/Guineas meeting comp with picks from each race over the combined 5 days in total resulting in the King or Queen of Newmarket.
Craven meeting Starts 18th April and runs for 3 days
Guineas meeting starts 6th May and runs for 2 daysI’ll post a set of rules up soon and we can use this thread for entries and leaderboard etc
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
Winner –
The person with the highest overall score from the 5 days combined. If tied most winners over the 5 days, if still tied highest winning nap, if still tied highest day 1 score, still tied day 2 etc. If still tied a dead-heat will be announced or a game of snakes and ladders if it can be arranged…….
Rules –
1 Selection in every race
You make pick as many reserves as you like in the event a non runner is your selection your 1st reserve will come into play, any changes to your selections have to made before the start of the first race.Nap Selection:
Pick 1 nap per day, if your nap wins it scores double points. double points are awarded for win only (placed nap selections count as normal points)
You can chose a Next Best (NB) In the event that your Nap is a non runner this will become the new nap (Nap reserve)
All Selections for the day should be posted before the first race.
Any late entry’s will be hit be a 20% deduction on points scored for that day
Also try not to edit posts especially after the start of the first race, please make a new post.
Points are scored for:
Under 5 runners – Winner only to count.
5-7 – Winner and 2nd.
8-15 – Winner, 2nd and 3rd.
16+ – Winner, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.POINTS SCORING (SP’s)
1/2 or shorter – 1st: 2 pts – 2nd: 1 pt – 3rd: 1 pt – 4th: 0 pts
8/15 to 10/11 – 1st: 4 pts – 2nd: 2 pts – 3rd: 1 pt – 4th: 1 pt
Evens to 2/1 – 1st: 8 pts – 2nd: 4 pts – 3rd: 3 pts – 4th: 2 pts
9/4 to 4/1 – 1st: 14 pts – 2nd: 6 pts – 3rd: 4 pts – 4th: 3 pts
9/2 to 15/2 – 1st: 17 pts – 2nd: 8 pts – 3rd: 6 pts – 4th: 4 pts
8/1 to 11/1- 1st: 22 pts – 2nd: 10 pts – 3rd: 8 pts – 4th: 6 pts
12/1 to 20/1- 1st: 27 pts – 2nd: 14 pts – 3rd: 10 pts – 4th: 8 pts
21/1 to 25/1 – 1st: 32 pts – 2nd: 16 pts – 3rd: 12 pts – 4th: 10 pts
26/1 to 32/1 – 1st: 40 pts – 2nd: 18 pts – 3rd: 14 pts – 4th: 12 pts
33/1 & above – 1st: 50 pts – 2nd: 20 pts – 3rd: 16 pts – 4th: 14 pts

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...I opted to leave it out just too keep it slightly easier for me to score as I’m working the week of the Craven
I’m going to leave it this time Jac, sorry but just in-case some members have studied the rules before today and put their picks in then see the rules have changed. I’ll go back to the 2 x horses in one race in the other comps though, promise..I’m looking at Epsom Derby/Oaks, Royal Ascot, Goodwood, York Internatinal/Ebor, Breeders Cup and I’ll do the 2 x horses in one race for all of these.
Plenty of comps to enjoy over the Summer with your comp, bob’s, Champions Day inter forum, Pat’s handicaps.
