    Dancing brave’s Craven is certainly the best as far as I’m concerned. I recall some pundit saying that DB’s sectionals in the last 2 furlongs were very fast considering how soft the going was.

    One of the most visual finishes was in the 1994 Craven (won by King’s Theatre) when Suplizi appeared from nowhere to force a three-way photo. As a result, I was all over Suplizi for the 2000 when Mr Piggott taken the ride … but the horse flopped like a steaming bag of warm horse manure. Suplizi’s form gradually dwindled into oblivion. Shame really!

    I was watching a YouTube video of Dancing Brave’s career last night.

    It included the Craven and it was the first time I’d seen it since actually being there in 1986.

    I’d forgotten Faraway Dancer was runner up.
