I wonder how many other courses will follow suit?
November 29, 2021 at 18:12 #1569861Just the ones who want to go bankrupt
Unless there is an emergency, tyrannical measures should never be implemented, anyone who attends this and believe it protects them (it does not) is crazy.
I would never wish failure upon any business, but i unequivocally and wholeheartedly hope there doors close for the rest of time due to this
Idiots.
November 29, 2021 at 18:27 #1569863I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all. In Italy, for instance, the Green Pass is mandatory for a lot of events. In fact, this was the only country I visited this year and where I felt pretty safe.
Apart from everybody wearing masks there where no other restrictions to complain about.November 29, 2021 at 18:31 #1569864AnonymousInactive- Total Posts 2553
Well said, ham, they are worse than idiots – they are traitors.
November 29, 2021 at 18:39 #1569866ham, that’s the thing the media have given this full throttle again. Their dramatic headlines written or said to grab a reader or viewer are sensationalistic at times.
This is before they know exactly what this new variant is!My hope is it’s less dangerous than Delta, and soon after more things will reopen. Hopefully this is a very temporary measure.

No chance of this being a temporary measure. IMHO
I’d love to be wrong though, just this once.
November 29, 2021 at 18:47 #1569872It’s the case for most events now, though I have yet to hear of a venue that actually checks.

Just being lulled into a false sense of security at the moment, things will be tightened up when enough people have been conned into getting the jabs and booster jabs
November 29, 2021 at 18:56 #1569875Many businesses are having a nightmare trying to navigate the minefield that is COVID, especially those that involve large groups of people congregating.
Whether you agree with their stance or not, a little understanding and empathy would go a long way. Most people are just trying to do their best in an awful set of circumstances, and wishing for businesses to fail and calling people traitors is not the answer.

IYO, Marlo. Chelmsford doesn’t have to do this, not yet anyway, that is the point
November 29, 2021 at 19:12 #1569879Agree 100% Marlingford. I imagine most of these measures are down to insurers and/or fear of litigation. If you think going to the races is bad, try getting into a care home. Some of the measures are clearly important (hygiene, making sure you’re not infected etc) but others make no sense at all (plastic apron for example). However, if there’s an outbreak and it can be proved that an organisation didn’t do everything they could to prevent it, they’ll be in trouble. It’s not a big deal to jump through a few hoops to protect somebody’s livelihood.
November 29, 2021 at 19:23 #1569890Would anyone like to provide scientific proof that vaccine passports protect anyone?
Or care to explain how they are unsafe when they are at a venue when they will spend most of their time outside in the open air?
November 29, 2021 at 20:40 #1569904Maybe they want to be one of the courses that survives, because certainly plenty are going to the wall.
In other news, Chelmsford hope to stage turf racing next year on the inner of the all weather course.
November 29, 2021 at 20:57 #1569909Never been racing at “Chelmsford City” – this kinda makes me want to go, but hand on heart: can I be bothered?
No.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"November 29, 2021 at 21:05 #1569911I went when it was still Great Leighs. It was terrible.
November 29, 2021 at 21:07 #1569913Vaccinations does not stop the spread nor foes it stop you from catching it, so a pass saying you have had it, essentially does absolutely nothing except give you a false sense of security, negative testing would atleast have some use, but still idiotic
When this becomes an endemic soon, the case rate will be upto 90k a day for the rest of humanities existence, dont be fooled.
Implementing this without emergency is tyrannical in the minimalist sense. I hope chelmsford goes bust.
November 29, 2021 at 21:14 #1569914“Vaccination does not stop the spread nor does it stop you from catching it”
Yes it does. And yes it does.
