There was a heated discussion down the pub last night.
The discussion was started by someone who has a building company and he is hands on with his work all week.

He attempted to convince everyone he could do much better at betting if he had all day to go on betfair and also to study form for a lot longer than his present commitments allow.

Apparently according to him the spread betting firms fare worst during the week as they face hardened pros all day long whilst at the weekends they do better as there are more ‘part time’ customers who tend to lose more per day than those all can trade during a normal working day.

I do seem to remember someone at Cantor said much the same thing once.

I don’t know how many on here have a ‘proper job’ but I guess there are some that do not have any income apart from gambling.

Years ago I used to drive artics around this country and in Europe and although I had bets when I had the time there were days and weeks sometimes when it was out of the question.

If someone was careful and had a decent bank the general thought was it is not that hard to make as much or even more than someone who was on the basic wage.

Obviously, if someone has more time to sit and watch races and anallyse what is happening to them, they should have a greater grasp of the form, however, if you don’t know what you are looking for, it doesn’t matter how long you spend.

Talk him into giving it a go, it will be valuable experience, his temperament will be tested and he will know where he stands for the second attempt.
