Wonder what the excuse will be for Santini this time? Ground presumably or doesn’t like Sandown? It appears he only really likes Cheltenham and he doesn’t even win there that often. I’d back him in a National though!

TTC Henderson has always maintained Santini is better on better ground. Though his runs have mainly been on softer.

Gold Cup was gd/sft and was a neck 2nd
That was surely better than winning against poorer horses on sft or worst

Mike the GC is a grade 1 ….he ain’t running to that level , good horses win the GN now ….plus if went GN he wouldn’t have to run against Native again

I’d agree with that
he won Cotswold last year on soft but best run was Gold Cup gd/soft
That was at Cheltenham against BDM
I think he is better at Cheltenham
He may have regressed very possibly, we’ll find out for sure next month

Altior ran his guts out …and scopped badly , Mike I said earlier it was time for him to start delivering , give me 1 positive today , he,s the same price now as Native for the GC , and we know who’s the better horse
