Cracking performance from Hukum – five-year-old entire and looks better than ever to me.

Well that was a bit dissapointing, pyledriver didn’t pick up at all. Don’t think he’s run to his best at all there.

Hukum won very easily, was never really in doubt

manobo was covered in sweat and ran no race

Pyledriver OR 120, High Definition OR 119 just behind him – I think there’s just a chance they both ran to form and Hukum has improved to about 126.

I’d say that’s very unlikely Ian

I can’t have high definition as a 119 horse think he was flattered by his second last time thanks to an excellent losing ride at a track that favours front runners

I’d say he’s probably improved to 120-122 and the 2nd/3rd have run to about 115

I’d have to watch it again but Frankie may have been a bit too keen to hit the front although that said the wouldn’t have made any difference to the result as Hukum was very good today and up with him anyway but may have finished closer if a bit more patient.

Fair comment and a lot of people when rating races fall into the trap of assuming something in the frame must have run to its mark when rating the race when quite often the winner is the only one that has run to form.

    Time, as always, will tell.

    Indeed

    What a broodmare Aghareed is

Baaeed and Hukum produced from 3 foals

And the third reached a rating of 99 too

Just shows you don’t need a superstar on the track to produce group 1 performers

Winning time was only 0.7 seconds outside standard.

Ground drying out all the time, I think.

They had better start putting an inch of water on the track then. ;-)

I’m told he put on 25mm before racing.

I can easily see them watering again after the last given the times.

Hukum has fractured a leg and is out for the season and will likely be retired. Terrible bad luck for Owen Burrows and his team. Hope the horse will be OK.

Most likely won’t race again and go to stud duties. They operated on him Saturday thank goodness it was ok to operate on

    Shame that he’s injured

    Interesting analysis on the verdict

They’ve gone absolutely no pace and hukum just to fast for the rest

Firing 2 almost 11 second dead furlongs in furlong 10 and furlong 11

The rest far too slow to be coping with that speed

It’s moot now but Timeform have awarded Hukum a 125.
