I saw this horse run in his second hurdle race and immediatly marked him down as a horse to steer clear off.
He ran another moderate race finishing 3rd despite having every chance. The jockey eased him in the last 50 yds but that made little difference as he was never going to win.
He meets the 1st and 2nd again on the same terms on Sunday and they make him 7/4fav…………he is also fav to win the Supreme novices.
I know he won 4 bumpers but surely this horse is a false fav for Cheltenham or am I missing something?
February 8, 2008 at 19:49 #141363His jumping could certainly be improved, but I see no reason why he should be any shorter than the likes of Muirhead let alone the other leading two-mile novices.
February 8, 2008 at 23:31 #141431After he won his novice hurdle I laid a friend of mine even money that he would win another race over hurdles this season. My logic was that he would be running in Grade 1 company where nothing comes easy.In my opinion Muirhead will be the main Irish challenger for the Supreme Novices.
February 9, 2008 at 08:41 #141467cork all star travels well.but even on good ground his jumping wont carry him look at a e way bet for the race in the 4yr old lemon silk strong traveller and form round there is solid beat five dreams twice and goes there fresh
February 9, 2008 at 19:52 #141718I’d still respect the horse and wouldn’t completely write him off yet,he’s a good mover and obviously has a level of ability,I struggle to see him as an investment at this stage though, either tomorrow or at Cheltenham.
Whatever Geraghty says about being the moral victor of the Royal Bond, they still wet the bed at the last, even at that it could still be debatable whether he would have outbattled Muirhead had he hurdled it cleaner.
Maybe it can be written off as inexperience but Leopardstown wasn’t exactly a postive progression. It’ll be interesting to see how he gets on this year and whether he will be sent chasing at some stage in his careerFebruary 9, 2008 at 22:26 #141786FOF , lay to the max tomorrow , it has no chance
have fun with the winnings

February 9, 2008 at 23:54 #141808Im going e/w on Dark Bolero tomorrow at 20/1, he was entered in the Pierse Hurdle and came in for money the week before but was then pulled out at the 2 day declaration stage and now turns up in this race, there may be nothing in that but I like to see a horse pulled and entered up in class, its usually a sign of confidence and have my doubts about C.A.S.
Im also going to double him up with Turko at 8-1, I think turko already has it in him to beat this field and Nicholls says he is not going there for fun and he is expecting a really good run (nicholls is three from three with his irish runners), coupled with the fact that I dont rate the listener as a serious grade1 3 miler and think he is somewhere round about the bottom of the grade 1 barrel. Denman beat him on his own terms last time without even looking anywhere near full fitness, and the listener was well touted for that race.
I could be wrong but tomorrow will tell that tale.
February 10, 2008 at 19:22 #142012Bulwark, not being funny but I’m sure I’m not alone in not wanting to hear about every horse you back- start a Lays and Plays thread by all means!
February 10, 2008 at 19:48 #142021Cool, will do…
February 10, 2008 at 20:32 #142033Thats one started there now Carvers, obviously I won’t be able to get every single bet on there, only the ones that I plan out, because Im not a professional gambler and if Im to be totally honest, most of my bets are impulsive low stakes bets, I generally tend to do best when I bet that way.
PS. I dont know if you noticed but Dark Bolero was a non runner today (again), replaced him with Prince Erik in an E/w Double with Turko, which got chinned.
February 10, 2008 at 20:48 #142036Well that’s him dead and buried………Bookies are still quoting Francjeok for the race……… Watch this space…
