I liked three in this at entry stage……
Kitty’s Light
Lord Baddesley
SoloKitty’s Light takes a bit of a leap of faith on this years form, but I thought he was outstanding last year, and I just wonder if we’ll see a different horse this time with the weights already framed for Aintree. I thought 25’s fairly tempting
Solo has very slight doubts over trip, but I think he can get there, and was almost on verge of taking the 16’s, but the market support for Lord Baddesley has confused things. I think he’s a big winner waiting to happen, and he’s been backed. Not surprisingly in my view, as I thought he shaped well last time, and I think 14’s too big
Tempted by him big time, along with Solo, and I’ll maybe just hold fire, and miss that 14’s.
One I hadn’t considered was Killer Kane, but not entirely put off by his run Friday, and he’s interesting
Solo and Lord Baddesley the main pair though right now, with Kitty’s Light of real interest
No bet yet
Lord Baddesley
SoloFebruary 18, 2024 at 16:28 #1681621I’m sure that Killer Kane can improve on his run here last time, and even with it being more sensible to wait until tomorrow, I’ve taken the 16-1
February 18, 2024 at 16:58 #1681623Kittys Light e/w for me.
February 18, 2024 at 19:11 #1681634I totally agree about Kitty’s Light.
Have already backed him for the Grand National and 20/1 for this seems too big too, even though this might be a bit short in distance. Earlier form this season worth ignoring because he’s always much better in the Spring. Second in this back in 2022 and won the Eider on this day last year, . Still only 8 years old so could well improve at some point.Value Is EverythingFebruary 18, 2024 at 20:07 #1681643Kitty’s Light definitely spring horse and I think they have been minding him where they have placed his running this season to protect his handicap mark for Aintree Grand National

February 19, 2024 at 01:22 #1681681Definitely swaying towards Kitty’s Light myself with Lord Baddesley as backup. Missed the 25’s and 14’s on the pair of them, and I’d expect that I’ll miss the current 20’s and 10’s too.
I’d happily back the two of them, but Solo still on my shortlist too.
One to have a look at again tomorrow
February 19, 2024 at 12:28 #1681695Kitty’s Light halved in price already.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 20, 2024 at 15:52 #1681840Ended up just backing Kittys Light straight at the 25s.
He comes good at this time of the year and I suspect Williams has had the handbrake applied previously to keep his mark down for the National. The 3m will be a bit on the short side though.
February 20, 2024 at 15:57 #1681842Kitty’s Light could do with a good performance to put him as the first 10-3 horse to get in to the National.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 20, 2024 at 16:07 #1681845I agree Ginger.
I think Williams has played his cards too close to his chest and the horse may not even get the chance to line up in the National now.
I’ll be gutted as have been betting him for it since the summer.
February 20, 2024 at 23:01 #1681898Will try Blackjack Magic 10-1 ew. Rain is coming which will help him and hinder some others.
February 21, 2024 at 16:04 #1681981Kitty’s Light for me too at 12-1
February 21, 2024 at 16:29 #1681986I wanted to wait and see if there was confirmation tomorrow for Bowtogreatness, but as he looks popular just now, I’ve just bet him just now at 9-1
February 22, 2024 at 13:54 #1682075Kittys Light out, Damn.
Williams is under pressure now to get a good performance out of him before the National. He’s cutting it fine.
February 22, 2024 at 14:09 #1682077This ground would be no good at all to Kitty’s Light. Not sure why Williams is under pressure? 🤷♂️
February 22, 2024 at 14:44 #1682079Glad, The horse is currently No52 in the Grand National pecking order with only 34 allowed to run. He needs a good run into him before then as he has the opportunity to rise to No46 on the list before withdrawals.
His whole season has been tailored towards the National so it’d be a huge disappointment if he doesn’t make the cut.
February 22, 2024 at 15:38 #1682082Nothing in this £85k race is in the National. I bet that’s never happened before.
